Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I've eyeballed that ball joint press set but don't replace them often enough at this point. Plus some of my cars would get a full control arm over a new ball joint as no one sells just the ball joint. Last time I borrowed one from Autozone. I always need to watch the line between want and need seeing I have limited space and finances.

That Braun bar light for $20 may end up in my workshop though. The coupon is good for quite awhile.
Those lights are awesome. I'm stocking up at this price because I don't want to use a corded drop light now that I'm spoiled by these. They are small, bright, light weight, fit almost anywhere and the banner is very strong. These lights are one of my all time favorite HF items.

I have trucks and Jeeps and I really don't myself going away from having multiple trucks and Jeeps at any time. For dealing with Dana/Spicer axles, the ball joint press is easy to justify, and I currently have 3 Dana front axles in my fleet. Plus these work great on U-Joints and small ball joints in some cars and half ton trucks. It will be a great tool to have for me.

One too love yet to find that my buddy uses... To press the seals into the rear axle of your truck there is a tool that you pick the correct diameter seal pusher, mount them to a center bar that you thread out to expand and it pushes both seals outwards at one time, always keeping them perfectly square to the housing and you thread it out until both seals are seated.

I currently have the one that you tap one seal at a time in with. 20181231_130806.jpeg20181231_130841.jpeg

By "calibrate the HF meters" do you mean you actually adjusted them to read more accurately, or did you just check how far off they were? If you did adjust them, how did you do it? I haven't opened one up yet to see what they look like inside.
Yes, the HF multimeters have a calibration potentiometer that needs a tiny screwdriver to turn it. I think the size of screwdriver for eyeglasses. As I recall, getting all my meters to match the 1.56 volts of an AA battery still left them with 1~2 volts variance when measuring 120 volts AC.

Better multi-meters also have a battery test function, for small batteries. They put a small load on the battery and give you a result. Just measuring the voltage doesn't tell you much.

I just tested two C cell batteries, that power the igniter in one of my kerosene heaters. I forgot to remove them last winter, when I stopped using the heaters. Both tested good.

I took one of the free HF multi-meters a couple of years ago and ...... it was crap.

I'm curious if you can tell by looking if these are the same light as HFs? At $21.99 for a 2 pack they would be a great deal......if it is actually an apples to apples comparison.

No, that is not similar. I mean, the form factor is the same I guess.... But the HF version is longer. This one that your link takes me to is 6" total. The HF one is 13.5".

Thanks for clarifying!

For most part if I'm checking outlets I use one of the non contact pen style testers.

Where are you seeing the light bar for $20? I am only seeing $39.99 plus a 25% coupon.

It looks real similar to the one on the Harbor Freight Coupon Database that you obviously are still not looking at!

Seriously, that is a website that any HF customer needs to have saved on their phone it if an Android phone user.... You need to have the application.

The other one is Struggleville – The Undisputed World Champion of Daily Tool Deals who has a web based site and an application.2327_ITEM_BRAUN_390_LUMEN_SLIM_BAR_FOLDING_LED_WORKLIGHT_1544363588.3767-1.jpeg
