You'll just have to experiment if you've never tried them before. Like I said, you may find you can go a lot lower in wattage and still get as much or more light as you had with the incandescents. Most of what I sue are 7W or lower. I have a couple of 6500K 4W R4 style units outside that light up half my yard to the point I can see detail on my pole mounted PTZ camera.
The 3000K 7W PAR16 reflector flood in the gooseneck desk lamp over my bed is almost too bright and I have to keep it pointed up at the ceiling. If I turn it down towards something I need close detail of, it's more than adequate. I can't look directly at it though without feeling blinded.
