Used 2016 LS XR4040 100hrs in great shape $16000 or new 2018 XR4140 for $23000. Anything I should look for on the used tractor, known issues?

2 year old 100 hour tractor "in great shape", for $7000 less?
A 30% saving.
Private party? No tax?
Maybe even negotiate $15,000
Either way......It's a no brainer !!

If the 2016 IS in great shape then it is a GOOD deal at that price.

The 4040 and 4140 are different engines with different regen times. I would research what you think suits you the best or what you are most comfortable with. I like the 4100 series because of the 50hr regen time. If the different engine doesn't matter to you then saving 7k is a good thing

I would go with the 4100 series. Way better engine. Read a bit here, you will find many people complaining about the regen times on the 4000 series. Saving money is great and all, but buying new also gets you a warranty, and you will not inherent someone elses problems. There is a reason they are selling it cheap.
