any tricks on how to keep my face shield from fogging up on cold days when welding. see where snow skiers have goggles on. they have to have some kind of stuff to keep the goggles clear going that fast. any help will be very appreciated.

Clean lens, rub a little ivory soap on the lens and buff. They also make dedicated products.

Some wear a welding cap to cut down the sweat inside the helmet too.

Dawn dish soap. Apply, let dry, rub until clear.

Under water divers would hock a loogie on it and smear it around.

When SCUBA diving we use commercial anti-fog.
It's better than nothing.
You could hold your breath while you weld. :)

They make anti-fog for car windshields too. Check your local auto parts store. Sporting goods stores usually stock anti-fog for diving masks & swimming goggles.

Moisture condenses faster on dirt & contaminants. So keeping things really clean helps.

Lots of skiers swear by this stuff. For goggles and glasses.

If you put Cat Crap on your lens, just make sure it's the store bought kind.
-else you're going to have a mess.

Thinking outside the box:
Can you exhale through a tube so you don't fog the shield?
Or tape a little plastic tube connected to compressed air.....

I have been welding since the 1960's, and US Navy welding trained since 1971,,,

I have a double whammy,,, I wear glasses,, and depending on the weather,, both will fog,,,
BUT,, I soon learned how to NOT fog either lens while welding,,,

Simply breathe in through your nose,, then BLOW air out in a downward direction,, with a little force.
The blowing downward will remove the moist air from behind the welding helmet,,

if some fogging occurs,, inhaling through your nose brings the cool air with low humidity into the area behind the lens,,
that cool dry air can actually remove fog the previous breath created,,,

OK, lets all practice,, IN - (through your nose),,, OUT - (through your mouth),, IN,,, - OUT,,,, -,, IN,,, - OUT,,,, -,, IN,,, - OUT,,,, -

I feel like Jack LaLanne,,,,

Actually we would spit in our masks to clean & defog them. Normal spit, not phlem. Pretty standard practice for divers or swimmers actually.
