no offense but whats with chaining to the tire/rim instead of suspension? just curious...

I've tried several methods of chaining down the rear end of my tractors and found that the wheel rim is the best method. The 3 point hitch doesn't work and the rear axle doesn't have a place to positively attach a chain without the chain being able to slide on the axle. I looked at truckers hauling big excavators with the chain hooked to the track and figured if it was good enough for them, it was good enough for a tractor.

If there is a better method, I'm all for it.

It is pretty common to tie down cars by running the strap through an aluminum wheel. It allows the car to ride on it's own suspension (of course no suspension on tractors) and is much easier than crawling under the car to find a place to tie it down.

It’s hard to avoid a a strap coming unhooked if you hook on the frame of a suspension vehicle. If tying the wheels isn’t an option I usually pull the suspension down hard, hook the strap where it can’t come unhooked an use more straps than needed.
