on my XG3025, the 3 pt lift doesn't start up until I get the lever about half way up. I asked the mechanic at the dealer about it, and he said that's typical for new tractors the way they're plumbed it takes longer for the pump to get the oil back there.....which of course I'm not buying that. I've already decided that guy won't ever work on my tractor, but I digress....

so, how's your 3 pt lift, I'm used to my old Ford starting up as soon as I started the lever moving, and the pump on that thing was awful....

I have to play with knob under the seat that is pto control

The valve should control the speed of "drop" of the 3 point. My 3 point lift begins as soon as the lever is moved, even just a little. It will come up at the same speed regardless of the valve position(fast or slow)

That valve will also lock out the 3 point completely

yeah this valve doesn't stay where I put it either, it seems to unscrew all by itself. I'm doing my 50 hour service Monday, I'm going to see if I can figure something out. I know this valve controls the speed it drops, but it isn't supposed to effect the 'lift' right?

My 3-point position control lever is all the way forward - my rear blade sits firmly planted on the ground - the 3-point lower arms will begin to lift when the position control lever is about 1/6 of the way towards being full back. In other words - when I have pulled the lever back about an inch.

The valve beside my seat controls the speed of rise or fall of the 3-point lower arms. It has NOTHING to do with "when" the 3-point arms will respond to the position control lever. It ONLY controls the speed.

yep, got my book out and read through that section. nothing to do with when it starts to raise, even with the really poor translation from Korean to English ;)

That's how my 3PL works. About half way 'forward' to lift.

It is very precise when lowering and maintaining the desired position, though. It's never bothered me in the 5 years I've had my 4105.

I haven't had anything on the rear enough to be able to comment. The MMM acts about as you're describing though. Movement upwards is delayed after pulling the lever back.

Do you have an attachment on when you are trying this? If you have no attachment on the lift arms, and they are lowered all the way, they should move instantaneously when you move the lever. If you have an attachment on that holds the arms up a little, the valve won't move until it gets to the position where the arms are.

Some lift control levers are adjustable, it's position control and could have a bit of delay.

It痴 the same either way, implements or no implements

small delay on lifting , I am lifting large round bales and taking them out in the field. I have never had issue raising or lowering on my XG3025.

it doesn't have any trouble lifting anything I've put back there so far, it's just that it doesn't start lifting until the lever is at the halfway mark

mostly my implements, but I do have a big round bale of mulch hay I had to move out of my way. no trouble lifting it, just a delay like with everything else

Not sure if there is any type adjustment on the lever itself

I don't think there is. I did my 50 hour service yesterday and while I was under there greasing stuff and changing the hydraulic filter, I was also checking everything else out too. Nothing looked adjustable at all.

also, you other xg3025 owners, when I was doing my service yesterday, I was expecting the oil pan to be split with two drain plugs because of the proximity of the front drive shaft, but my drive shaft goes under mine, and there was only 1 drain plug....so did I read it wrong or is the oil pan with 2 drain plugs for that reason only on the small frame tractors?

Only 1 on mine. When the times come to actually change the hydraulic fluid you will need an impact for that drain plug.

thanks for the heads up. I didn't actually lose as much fluid changing the filter as I thought I would, but it sure helps to keep a rag handy to screw the new one back on with cause my hands (with rubber gloves) were slick as snot.....LOL

I've also known there's no 'dipstick' on the oil cap on the front end, although the book says to make sure the fluid level is between the low and high marks, I just added until it appeared it was just below the hole, kind of hard to tell where it is without a flashlight

It dipstick is on the side. On mine the hyd fill on the rear end does have a dipstic on it. Check all your clamps and fittings you be surprised how many you will find loose

yeah I knew the rear has a dipstick. I didn't realize on the front the cap itself has the dipstick though, I can say, sadly, that it's been low since I brought it home then because I didn't know what I was supposed to be looking for. It's good now, though I need to go back and check it, I may have a little too much in it now.....I can use the boat motor lower unit pump to take some out if I need to ;)
