If anyone thinks contracting is easy to plan, things automatically fall into place, nothing goes wrong, everything arrives on time, no trade depends on another, no changes are made midstream, no other project impacts this project, employees show up every day ,,,,,,,, well they should try being a contractor sometime.

That said, getting it dried in should be a priority for the contractor to keep things moving during the bad weather.

Good news, framers showed up yesterday. They were getting everything ready for today. The crane was supposed to be there at 7am today. I have not been over to the house yet, but I suspect they are setting the trusses right now. I just finished the chores around my brothers place and going to get some breakfast then I'll head over and see what's happening.

Pictures to follow.

I really enjoyed watching my builders set trusses on my shop. Simple straight roof but still a treat to watch those young men work!!!

Glad to hear of progress!!!

I just finished my drain field-try 5 100 laterals!! My drainfield is larger than some people痴 building lots!

I am in the same county and it took us months to find a suitable place for drain field (35-40 test holes). The inspector was on a power trip and told us where we could build on 40 acres. We found out that he had been let go in King county and was a piece of work. We were finally approved for surface drain field, 600' of drain line (6x100'). It was to be 12" deep, 4" of drain rock, 4" pipe, 4" of drain rock covering. After completion, we were to cover it all with 8-12" of top soil. We have to pump up to the d box. For final inspection, they sent out a kitchen inspector, my wife had to show him what we had and help him take measurements so he could sketch the "as built" diagram... We have green grass for first 10' or so of drainfield.

Here are a few shots of the truss work. They still have some to put up in the front of the house. I'll get a picture when it's done.

I'm standing in the front door taking this picture. Tool trailer in the way but you can see it's a great view anywhere in the great room/kitchen.

No "frost" yet, but it has froze a few times. I'm getting a little concerned, my well is still dug up so the water line can be connected. That will happen Thursday then I can bury it.

This time of year you always need to be thinling of weather. I've got water into my shop. Should get the floor heat completed in the next couple weeks. Stubbed the water line toward the house site and buried it.

We shouldn't have a damaging freeze for another month at least. Hoping to be about where you are with our house by then.
