Tattered flag flying in the rain, naw, nothing wrong with that:rolleyes:

This is what you call marketing to the nth degree LMFAO Tom Sawyer would be proud, his fence doesn't have anything on this project.

The tattered flags are then put on display for each storm. Let me find the thread over on Arfcom.

Sooo - this is a camera mounted somewhere - looking out at the ocean, somewhere??? I wonder - is the storm coming or has it already gone past??

Looks like someone already put a new flag on the pole. Also, it looks like the "calm after the storm" already.

The place looks pretty run down, but I could see some potential if you could get a decent way to moor boats.

Wow!! Thank you JD855guy. Now that is a pretty unique B & B.

I looked at the website the other day, interesting setup. Some of the rooms look like they leak. I think I'd be pretty bored after a day or two.

I think the feed is down and channel is just showing old footage.

When I looked the guy was doing a live question/answer feed. It's now back on the flag. Looks pretty calm now.

He mentioned that once a month someone supplies him with the most durable flags they could get.

I've marked the tower location in relation to Florence currently (the Red X).

Here is the deal...

If no one is on watch 24/7, you don't put up the US flag, it's THAT simple.

Don't care how "durable" the flag is, unless you're under threat of enemy fire, flag goes up and comes down, once a day, unless you have lights on it for nighttime flying.

If it's calm today, it's not a live feed.

Could be running anything to drum up business.

Guy bought the place for 80k, and is looking for everyone to chip in to work for free on the place AND charge people who want to stay there.

As mentioned, the owner is pulling the ultimate Tom Saywer on people convicing them it's worth THEIR time LOL.

Got to give him credit, at least he's trying to snaggle people...

Seeing there isn't always someone on the platform I assume the option is leave it up all the time or take it down when no one is there. I was stating what the guy said, I'm sure he had no plans on taking his chopper out there during the storm. All of his cameras appear to be remote controlled. This is America, he can leave his flag up if he wants to just to show the platforms allegiance.

Very simple rule, if you put the flag up and you know you can't be around to take down if you need to take it down, don't put it up in the first place.

This is America, you're right. Only point is if you're going to get pissed (not necessarily you) for a guy kneeling in front of a flag in silent protest, get just as mad as plain ignorance on how to fly the flag. Ignorance is worse IMO.

Have to disagree with you on this one. But this is not political so nothing more.
