Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #79,801
The low was 45° this morning, yesterday was was in mid 80's and mostly sunny. We did get a overnight shower but it doesn't look like much. For today they are saying we have a 20% chance of showers with the wind this afternoon 20-30 mph.

Didn't get much of anything done yesterday. Have a few little things I would like to get done today.

Hope everyone has a enjoyable Sunday.
CWB.

It's a melony morning

Three yellow watermelons from Georgia, one Golden Perfection from Russia, a few little Tiggers from Armenia and the rest are Hale cantaloupes.
I really stuffed myself on the one yellow watermelon I opened, wanted to collect seeds and I've got about a hundred seeds drying out now. Lot of seeds
in these non GMO watermelons.

Warm and sticky out, showers later this afternoon, I'm ready for a day of rest.

Some years ago I believe the convention for specifying degrees with the temperature with the little bubble mark was dropped in favor of adding C or F or K to designate the measurement system being used. Last time I checked, all the computers around here had C, F, and K...

For the last day and a half I've been helping a friend with the exhaust system on his motorcycle. He found an air/fuel mixture gauge that uses an oxygen sensor, and needed to drill a hole in the collector box and weld in a threaded bung to accept the sensor. That part was easy, and hopefully today on his way home he'll get to see it work. He helped me finish putting the swing arm and rear wheel back on my bike, but we were both stumped when it came time to install a band clamp on the rubber boot that covers the drive shaft u-joint. The tiny screw that tightens the clamp just wouldn't reach the hole it's supposed to thread into.

This morning I found the problem. I'd purchased new clamps at the BMW dealer to replace the filthy, rusty ones on the bike, and started comparing them. The bands were the same length, and even featured the same manufacturer's mark. But the old screws were about 5mm longer, just enough to let them reach the threaded connector on the band. I think I'll take a copy of this photo down to the dealer when I visit next week.:confused2:

70°F and 1.39 inches rain. Looks to be a repeat of yesterday -wet.
I did manage just a bit of cleanup yesterday and also beat the wife at cards. Was an excellent day to make stuffed cabbage in the IP.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Beautiful photo, Drew, and what satisfaction you must be feeling from all your hard work!

Nice melons Drew.

I can’t take any credit, other than the knife work, but Sophie plants our pineapple tops. These are ready to be sliced up and eaten. Small but flavorful.

Randy, I checked the crummy 12v low pressure pump. It is flowing plenty of gas. Enough to fill a 12 ounce water bottle in about 8-10 seconds. I don't know if there is an electronic fuel shut off or not.

Good Morning!!!! 69F. Partly cloudy. Areas of smoke and haze are possible, reducing visibility at times. High 89F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Kyle, I think I'd try your hill idea, making sure that the wheels were chocked, and perhaps using the bucket on the ground as a stop, too. Then put an extra clean container under where you've opened the system to catch whatever comes out, with the of putting it back in when you're done.

No word on the smog check from the mechanic, as expected. Serial disappointment

The old BMW is a roller now, with a little help from a friend...

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of he weekend...

The Beemer is looking good. Will you keep it for a while? or move it for the next one? Still waiting for the smog check news. I would offer up that when you get it, that you take a nationwide tour, stopping and visiting your online friends. I could put you up for a few nights. (Unless you come and perform indentured servitude like poor Ron did for Don.) :) I'm sure most of us could line up a list of chores for you.

Drew and Dave, nice photos of the fruits of your labours. Enjoy. Our melons shriveled up from drought when we went on vacation. Drew, will your lawn and garden determine the timing of your travels west?

hoping and praying some of the "hit or miss" pop up showers come over us today. So far, one got about 1/2 mile from us, then turned tail and went the other way. I believe the extreme dryness in the soil dries them up before they get over us.

Eric, enjoy the nice weather. Be sure to take a picture and put it in a journal. I was looking online at an extended calendar depicting "normal" Hi/Lo temps. It doesn't really cool down much here until late October. Many times, I remember myself (when young) and now my kids sweating up their costumes on Halloween night.

There may be a backfire or shut off valve causing the problem. Seems it’s gotta be simple with everything else working.

topps, you might be exactly right. This is one of the few parts that I have not replaced on the carburetor side of the engine... will have to see which of the lower 2 I have. Deere says the part is $160. OUCH, and it isn't even painted green.
