I'm jealous. This morning, the NWS said we had an 80% chance. The rain was coming from the north, moving south. Then it split and went on south on both the east and west sides of us. When I was outside, I felt a few drops and some mist, but not enough rain to even see it on the sidewalk.

Bird, I watched it split in two and dissipate in the middle. We need rain desperately down here too. Just like California.

Busy day today. Ran the paper work in and got some cantaloupe for the wife at the produce stand. Grabbed a few things at the grocery store and went to the bank. After breakfast we cut the boy's hair, he hates it and gave him a bath. Then I cut the wife's hair and we started lunch. Later I called and asked for my money back on the lathe and they said they can't. After a few words from me they said they would call back in an hour or two after they got the ok to refund my $$$. You already guessed it, no call. I hate dealing with dishonest people.

First thing I hear in the morning is my wife sleeping. The next is traffic.

Have a great night. Ed

Ed, contact your credit card company immediately and tell them to cancel the payment.

I wake up with our Amazon Alexa device. I'm sleeping in until the kids have to go back to school... sleep in until 5:45 am.

Good evening to all! So far no rain today at home, there was a brief downpour about a mile from the house on my way home. Temp was nice at about 85, tomorrow only 80. Better chance of storms later this week.

Quote: Kyle: "What city do you serve that you all have that many calls? That's a lot of calls."

I work in Albuquerque NM. and the surrounding county. Call volume has gone crazy. One of the fire stations in Albq was the 4th busiest fire station in the nation. Basically in contrast to the population, 1 out 5 people call 911 every day. Then if you consider the similar increase in crime, it's like being in Detroit, there were 3 shootings /homicides yesterday alone.

I'm currently on "light duty", teaching in the education dept, limited to 20 hrs. Work comp picks up the other 20 hours, but only at 66%. No other help available.

So, first thing we usually hear in the morning is the clicking of 2 small canine's nails on the hardwood floor. We try to 'play opossum' and just lay there, but they are too smart for that. They will then wait patiently for the slightest movement. As soon as they detect that, they jump against the side of the bed as if to say "come on already...get up...we know your awake".

Prayers out for those needing, especially Buppies and Ed. Have a great week.

Eric, I'm sorry but that pic is just so wrong....

Very little rain here for a couple of weeks, the grass is very dry. I mowed last week, it was like being in a dust storm. Only cutting the weeds sticking up, the grass hasn't grown much.

Our dogs get me up about 6 every morning. And at 7, the expect to be fed. The little terrier barks at me if I'm slow, Sydney the boxer girl just looks at me, and if I don't get to it, she rattles her bowl. 7 days a week, sleeping in is hard!

The big powers that be are attempting to establish some sort of "medical need" priority. Other larger cities have had to use a similar type of prioritization in order to provide enough coverage. In other words, if it isn't life threatening, you going to wait for a while. I will probably be able to retire by the time they are able to implement it. As far as the pesticide consumers, they always seem to be a priority....something is wrong with the whole picture.

Good evening all. 78F this morning, cloudy rain started about 8, gust front came through with peak winds about 40. Temp dropped to 69F and .4 inch in the rain gauge, cloudy through early afternoon high temp was 91F. Had to take the dog to the vet, ran some errands and back home. Read some of my Harry Bosch novel, napped and walked the dog.
first sound I hear is wife getting out of bed, then I go back to sleep for another 1-3 hours :)
Prayers for all.

LS, check out the new proposed Houston Texas ambulance fees. $1,876.00 and $14.36-per-mile. They will charge $365 if you die on the scene and are not taken to the hospital. They will also charge $175 just to help you off the floor.
Houston Fire Dept. proposes sharp hike in ambulance fees

And ... if you happen to live in our Capitol City or Travis County and also share the name of the attached Texas Heroes, you’ll probably pay double.

Yep .... we have a liberal problem in Tejas but .... we’ll fix it.
