I'm about to buy one of these little guys but but wish to be able to dig 4 foot post holes. All the PHD's seem to only have 3 foot or 30 inch long augers. I guess i could fabricate an extension to add with the auger in the hole? Would be better if i could find a PHD that will allow a 48 inch auger. Any ideas
Series one tractors are limited Cat 1 3 point machines which means the total lift is limited (mainly because of the smaller tires). I doubt you would have enough lift for a longer PHD. I can't say for sure but I doubt that my larger 2320 would be able to use a 48 inch PHD.
Check out Tractor Time with Tim on you tube. He has the same tractor and did an auger video. Good info.
Why not go for the 2025r? It has the same motor, but is a real cat 1.
Looking at some of Tim's videos, I think he many times wishes he had the 2025r instead of the 1025r he has. The base price is only about $2,300 more.
Hard to directly compare a Deere to a MF.. just sayin....
Thanks, I'll check Tim out. I could not find one of the 1025r with PHD
