Morning all. Hard to keep up with everyone, you retired guys are just too busy.
Ive thrown a lot of square bales. Farm was too hilly for a wagon, so baled onto the ground, then picked up by hand on a truck. Then tossed in the barn and stacked by hand. No elevator. I used to do this wearing shorts and no shirt in my young days.then switched to long jeans and shirt as i got older.

Facebook can be frustrating, in what they select to show you. Younger people dont use it much. My family keeps touch with each other using a private group.

...

Since I bought the new Kubota ZD1211 with 72 deck I've got many more places it can't get to like our previous John Deere Z820 with 60 deck could.

I think I tripled my "lawn" cutting since moving to a ZTR. It's faster and just looks better. I guess less sweat and pucker factored into the expanded cutting areas too.

...
It's more area than I want to cleanup with my Echo trimmer so I was about to buy a gas lawn mower but, looked into the Worx battery mowers. I ended up buying a Worx WG750 Mower that is powered by dual 40 volt batteries.

....

It weighs under 40 lbs., even less if I don't use the bagger so, I should be able to put it in the bed of the Polaris Ranger and hit all the un-mowed places quickly.

Interesting, I have to haul a gasser up the driveway in the RTV. Lifting is always the issue. Especially after a long day and it's the last thing to do. A lighter weight mower is interesting.

Seems like you got a good deal, keep us posted. That price point seems really good.

59°F and moderate to heavy fog this morning, going up to 84° today.

The rain event just kind of brushed past us to the south yesterday, and we didn't get much at all. It did bring in much cooler air, though. I'm OK with that. Forecast highs in the 70s and low 80s through Wednesday next week. Oddly cool for late July in the St. Louis area.

Carpenter got the roof on the house and garage finished yesterday. He's coming back Monday to redo the well house roof.

My take on Facebook is that if they can lose over $100B in stock value and still be in business today, then their stock was way overpriced anyway. I'd call that a correction, not a loss. It seems now that they have to sell ads without the aid of selling users' personal information, they are sitting on a more level playing field with the rest of the business world, and their earnings forecasts seem to indicate that, too.
(just my opinion)

Should be trying it out later today or in the a.m. depending on when FedEx shows up.

Will keep you posted.

FWIW, WORX has another 25% off sale today only. The WG750 is covered.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 6:15AM. Sunny. High 102F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

You make that burger sound very good indeed, Eric. I had to wipe my chin after reading your description.

Bought my FB shares at $35, still think I’m doing OK at $175. But learned an S&P index fund is pretty good in the long run, and a lot less work to maintain.

Curious about your ZTR pucker factor, Rip. Are ZTRs more stable on steep ground, or is it something else?

Thomas, the squirrel whisperer!

When I swung by the mechanic’s place yesterday, it was closed up tighter than a drum. But a fellow about my age was trying the doors, so I waved at him and he came over to the truck to say hello. His van has been in there two years, and we’ve had very similar misadventures trying to get them finished. As we commiserated, the mechanic’s helper showed up, and though he reaffirmed he was still quitting in a week or so, said he was spending his time mostly on my van, and was trying to stay long enough to see it running. He also said he’s not seen it running, contrary to the story I got from the mechanic last week.:confused2: Anyway, my fellow victim and I traded contact info, and now we also have the helper’s info, for what good it will do. Misery loves company, I guess.

Only made it to 100F here yesterday, down from 105F. Still too darn hot.

The Carr fire exploded yesterday, and now threatens the city of Redding, and even Shasta Dam. Thousands evacuated, many being rousted from their homes at midnight last night. Hope we don’t see another Santa Rosa or Santa Barbara...

50* for the low this morning, yesterday was in the high 80's and mostly sunny. Looks like today is going to be in the 80's with a chance of thunderstorms later. They issued a red flag fire warning for the county until tonight.

A man building a fence for a neighbor passed a way yesterday afternoon. The fire department EMT's wasn't sure how to get up to were he was on back side of the subdivision. So I showed them how get up to him when I found out what was going on. He was only 57 years old. He had been working out in the sun and his coworker said he hadn't been drinking anything all day. It may have been the heat or some other medical problems. I had meant him a few times in past year's.

It took the first responder 30 minutes to make it out here after the call. Kind of makes you think about were we choose to live.

Don't plan on doing much today.

Hope everyone has a nice and safe day. And good start to the weekend.
CWB.

I did look at the EVO mowers but, theyæ±*e about 70 lbs. and $650, more for use as your only Mower.

Rick did you compare the self propelled EGO to the non propelled WORX?

Comparing push to push battery mowers:

EGO 21" (1) 56v 5ah with charger $399 (at home depot) Included options bag and mulch plug. wt 50lbs
Worx 17" (2) 40v ?ah with dual charger $249 (sale $188) Included options bag and mulch plug. wt 40lbs

The WORX has a 3 year warranty (one year battery)
The EGO has a 5 year warranty (three year battery)

The battery warranty would be the deal breaker for me when you look at the battery replacement cost. I'm on the 4th year on my 56v lithium battery and can still mow the entire yard. I'll have to time it next time I mow.

I pretty much looked at most of the battery mowers with good reviews Don. For my purposes, I really don’t need self propelled so the weigh savings, in eliminating it, saves my back. I don’t have any large areas to mow, just numerous small areas I can’t get to with the Kubota 72” deck. I had looked for some time and was pretty sure on the Worx @$249. The offered 25% off caused me to pull the trigger.

Edit: Don, the 40 volt batteries are 2 aH each so total of 4aH capacity.

Another thing I believe I’ll like is that the 17” overall width and 16” cut will get into places that a full size 20” or 21” mower won’t fit, further reducing weed eater work.

The EGO comes in a self propelled and a push mower for $150 less. I don't need the self propelled either it is very easy to push. Bird has the self propelled and it is good for him. The self propelled also has the larger 7.5ah 56v battery.

The on sale Worx is a good price for the job you need it for.
