Good morning!!!!

We have an area here in NM called "Bosque del Apache" which is a national wildlife refuge for many migratory birds. Each year there are thousands and thousands of geese, swans, and storks, that stop along there migratory route to rest and refuel. The ground is covered with birds as far as you can see. An amazing sight when hundreds start to take flight at a time. They fly around the area, breaking up into smaller groups, then leave.
We visited there a couple of years ago. Not many birds there in April. They had a good video though. Ate lunch at Buckhorn Burgers. Mmmmm good.

Good Morning!!!! 84F @ 8:22AM. Sunny. High near 100F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

We saw 101F yesterday with hardly any breeze at all, yet managed to stay out in the garage until 4:30 or so with just a little floor fan for cooling. Inside, the house got to 84F before I came in and turned on the A/C, much better than it would have been without the shades on the west end. Our heat wave is supposed to last through next weekend.

Hope your melanoma is a small one, Buppies.

The only cruise I was ever temped by featured snorkeling every day and the ship moved to a new location overnight. But that was before the Legionaire’s Disease breakouts, and now I’d probably give it a pass. A friend of mine and his wife just made the crossing to England on the QEII and seemed to really enjoy it though. He looked very nice in his tux, except for that Yankee Doodle bow tie:laughing:

Got the front brake caliper fitted yesterday, but it needs rebuilt with fresh o-rings and dust seals. Those are on hand, but I want to use stainless steel cap screws on reassembly, so those are on order. Today I’ll drag the engine out from under the bench and start cleaning it up. Probably a two day job...

Never thought I’d enjoy a cruise, actively resisted even. But a few years ago, wife was able to convince me to do the Panama Canal Cruise. Big boat, Holland America and I was convinced it would be just too crowded and not enjoyable. I was wrong. We went with another couple, good friends. Didn’t find it crowed at all and definitely not bored. Had a great time.
During that time period, my BIL decided to get a small group together for a Danube River Cruise. Again I was less than excited. Having lived 6 years in Germany I didn’t see a draw of cruise down the river, but I reluctantantly agreed and signed up for the next year. Again, I was wrong. The smaller ship, AMASerena was great and the river cruise was a very different perspective.
Next Jun we are taking our son and family on the 7 night Alaska cruise.

We prefer the AMA boats over their big name competitor. The crew:passenger ratio is much higher.

Buppies, prayers coming your way.

Ron, we are still holding out for the 8 qt model. There's 5 of us, and I love leftovers that aren't too old. My wife says I'm a human disposal....I just don't like running the oven in the summer. So I warm up leftovers in the microwave.

Maybe get 2 6’s at that price?

Don, here's what you need for the neighborhood...a Segway that converts to a go-kart...
Hmm, I think I need something taller so I don't end up underneath a vehicle. Besides security guards at the mall and at tourist attraction rides I don't see any in real life uses for Segways.

David, how close was that boat to the lava flow that got lava bombed?

Gotta hide this cruise talk from the wife. She has been wanting to do one for a long time. Me, not that interested, except alaska.

In just as happy taking day trips and sitting on my deck since I became an old grouch, but Ellen likes to cruise.
I really hope I can talk her into a river cruise, I spent about 45 days in the Caribbean and 11 months in Southeast Asia, I’ve seen all the tropics I care to. LOL

David, how close was that boat to the lava flow that got lava bombed?

That’s the big unknown at this point, being investigated. Supposedly they had permission to be 50 yds.

Yesterday, Sophie said she’d like me hook up her J Deere dump cart to her mower. Being as it was at least 2 weeks since last time, I knew the tires would be flat. One normally pumps up well, but the other has to be cinched to grab the bead. Did that one first. Before the 2nd was up, the 1st had lost half or more. Had used the canned inflator with slime inside in hopes it would work. Attempting to remove the inflator from 2nd tire and the valve mechanism comes out of the stem - back to 2 flats.
BUT, I have a fix!!!!

Just happened to have a couple of cans of spray foam.
This is what 2nd tire looked like:

Let it cure overnight and claiming success.

David, isn't it going to go crunch crunch crunch?

speaking of crunching, ya think they'd take a boat with a stronger roof that close to the volcano, talk about risking a catastrophe.
Lot of law suits will come out of that. Lava bombs have been in the news worldwide, but perhaps they thought it couldn't happen to them.
Too bad the passengers had to get hurt to find out how dangerous this was.
This isn't moseying up to an iceberg, it's getting close to an active volcano known to throw large objects into air.

showered for a little bit, sun back out, hot and humid, I'm just staying inside, more thunderstorms later.

Got what I needed to get done done and not much more. A good enough day...

Toppop, no one as cute and cuddly as you could be an old grouch. Now a little cranky? yeah, I can relate.

Just got a crack in my new subaru windshield. Heard something hit on way to work, didnt see anything. At lunch i heard something, then saw a big crack.

oh dear, that's money flying out the window as I'm sure you have a big comprehensive deductible. Cracks always get bigger.
Worst I ever had was replacing a motorhome front window, giant one piece thing, what a production.
And a thousand dollars out of my pocket. And it wasn't caused by anything hitting it either...and Winnebago acted
like Colonel Klink, We Know Nothing...;)
