Don if you are interested, 63 miles, 4:15 moving time, 4:48 overall time 2300 feet of climb 3 1/2 bottles of water.

Yes I'm interested. How do you know about the elevation? Is there an app you use?

Didn't get anything done yesterday...….couldn't get my azz in gear. I hope to do better today...

Drinking first cup of coffee. 66° with light fog this morning. Heading to 89° with chance of thunderstorms in afternoon. Yesterdays forecast of rain dropped enough to make it very humid outside. Got hitch competed. Needs paint. Visit to Aunt went well. I am amazed that there are companines that still offer parts for a item that is 40 years old. Thank you NuTone/Broan. No real plans today.

Drew, Good Video.

Buppies, best wishes for a good report.

Good Morning All.

good morning all. Picked a whole colander of tomatoes this morning, one last chance for the rejects to make
the spaghetti sauce pot. Going to let that cook all day long but first need to cook the Vidalia onions and my peppers a little.
Then in go the tomatoes, a can of mixed greens and whatever else looks good in the pantry. I usually cheat and throw in a can
of premade, likely I will, adds the salt and sugar I refuse to myself...
Going to keep this all veggie and hope to pour it over baked okra tonight.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Another humid, misty 60ºF start to the morning after last night's rain as a front moved through; heading to a low 80ºF afternoon with a possibility of showers/Tstorms.

I agree with the previous posts. Nice video and thanks for sharing the pics too. The closest I ever got to an SR 70 was in an aeronautical museum......... Impressive.

Buppies- I too am hoping for a good report.

RNG- Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with your A/C. I agree about all the gimmicky "bells & whistles." Being retired someone is almost always here to turn A/C on/off as needed. The HVAC people including their office staff advised that we play around with the controls and settings in all three zones. This new system is quiet, both inside and outside; much quieter than the old system. The circulation between the living room and kitchen is much improved; much better than the old A/C + ceiling fan. I do not see a need for a lot of the functions, but "remote" smartphone control might prove useful.

The brake work on my Tundra cost me ~$50 for cleaning/rebuilding/replacement. The dealer would have charged me ~$2000 for brand new calipers, cylinders, and probably new pads. Last night's showers and the potential for more rain today = lot's of coffee so far this AM  Weeding the garden and pruning some shrubs may be on today's project list. I might shave today too with my ancient TracII. I usually use Williams shaving soap.

I hope that everyone has a mellow Sunday.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

64 earlier going to 92.

Drew, laughed out loud watching that video.

Jay, congrats on getting that AC going. Ed, hope yours is working well since it is so hot there.

Mixed up 100 gallons of gly yesterday and sprayed 75 on some food plots. Didn't plan on so much left over, but did need to do some backpack spraying, so got about 6 gallons done on a poison ivy hunt and a fenceline. More to do today.

After getting cleaned up, went to a Ted Nugent concert in Fredericksburg...our son had won some tix and couldn't go so gave them to us. Lots of fun and very patriotic. No tractors, but he did have this very large crane holding up Old Glory. Uncle Ted's first song was the Star Spangled Banner, of course. Then we went and had a very nice seafood dinner and got home late.

Good Morning!!!! 78F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 97F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

78F may well be the low for the day, since it just hasn’t been cooling off much overnight with this high pressure system perched over us. With relatively low humidity, the heat isn’t punishing, but I can almost hear my skin sizzling when I step out from under the shade. Definitely no yard work going to be done in this weather.

I think it’s wonderful that your new system is so quiet, Jay. And I bet the gentle breeze it generates helps dust to a minimum, too! And hang onto that mechanic; he’s a real keeper!

I don’t think you’ll have too much trouble getting used to your mini retirement, Phil. And knowing you only have a little more than a year left until the real thing will hopefully cushion the shock of going back to work when it’s over.

I dunno about that picher, Buckeye. She don’t look anything like the Daisy Duke I remember, and I doubt she could even begin to get into a pair of those cutoffs she used to wear!.

Use lots of garlic in that sauce, Drew. LOTS of garlic, and it’ll come out tasting like a good marinara sauce should.:licking: Sounded like those SR71 pilots had lots of the Right Stuff, too.

The past few days have prooved quite eventful for local law enforcement. A traffic stop yesterday in Chico turned up a guy running around with a complete honeyoil lab in the back of his car. A few days earlier, just up the road in Concow, they busted an even bigger lab and confiscated almost 800 pounds of processed marijuana, over 30 pounds of refined honey oil, 200 full cans of butane, and 10,000 empty butane cans! But the “what the heck” moment came yesterday afternoon when the CHP were finally able to pull over two tweakers that had stolen a fire truck from an active fire scene in Sacramento, starting a chase that lasted a hundred miles and involved LEOs from five different counties. By the time the truck got itself stuck in a ditch just down from the local fire station, it had been driven on the rim for some miles and there was nothing left of the right front tire. Fortunately all those sparks failed to start a string of fires here in our community. Crap like this convinces me that the world is indeed going to He11 in a hand basket! But I was blissfully ignorant of any of it until I read the news last night. I just hope I can keep it that way!

Hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday...

Oh, one more: Yesterday they caught the guy that the day before threw gasoline on his wife and lit her on fire! This also happened in Chico, just a few blocks from where I had breakfast last Thursday...

Drew, good video..

RNG, wow, i guess someone really needed a fire truck..

   / Good morning!!!! #78,776
Going to keep this all veggie and hope to pour it over baked okra tonight.

What's your recipe for "baked okra"? I grew up eating fried okra, a little stewed okra, though most of my family didn't like it stewed, and okra was my first money crop as a farm kid; picked it every other day and sold it to the local grocery stores. I still like it fried AND I like pickled okra.

   / Good morning!!!! #78,777
Drew, hope the sauce came out to your liking. I do a lot of "touring" by video and google maps streetviews.

RNG, don't get me going about idiots with nothing to do. Jails ain't big enough I guess.

Brutally hot down here all week. Back is feeling better. Today we leave for summer vacation at church camp in west Texas hill country.

Wngsprd, did Ted play any of his old music or just promoting new stuff?

Jay, you couldn't have gotten that done any cheaper if you did it yourself. I would tip the man heavily if it is braking correctly. One way to test calipers (front) is if it pulls to one side or the other when braking. My old suburban was bad about that.

Prayers for all. Have a blessed Sunday.

Eric, I might need to brush up on my English fish species nomenclature.
Did y'all (youz guys) see the guy catch the 8' long alligator gar in the Trinity river here in Texas? I wonder how old it was?

Not sure why but I'm rooting for Crotia today....I guess that underdog spirit....nothing against France right now. Did you ever hear the old joke: French tanks have 3 gears for forward and 6 for backing up....Bad joke...

I agree. Craziness is everywhere; not just CA, although CA may have a disproportionate percentage of crazy residents + transients. MA is up there with the "crazies" as well; something must be in the water around here.

The A/C has two separate filters: nano platinum filters and electrostatic filters that will require regular cleaning. With the wood stove, dog, kitchen, and myself; the filtration system will be challenged.

Kyle- We have been doing business with this mechanic for many years. As soon as we are no longer under vehicle warrantee we go to him. We are fortunate to have a "local" tire sales/service business and outdoor equipment sales/service businesses that have a similar business plan as our mechanic here in the hill towns = decent prices, good service, and consumer oriented

When in doubt, add garlic ;)

   / Good morning!!!! #78,780
It was 46* this morning, yesterday was in the low 70' and overcast all day but no rain. Today is going to be in the 80's and clear skies and a light wind.

Worked on the trailers electrical system yesterday and it's still not working today. So I didn't get anything done yesterday. One of the weekend home owners has a electrical company, I'll ask him to have a look at it.

Going to put off working on the tractor tell we get back from SLC this week.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.
CWB.
