Drew I think your heavy rain moved here

it got to you first, and fizzled out before it got here.
that much rain actually might really be bad news here, all my tomatoes, about 70 or so showing, would crack and destroy themselves.
Tomatoes, or perhaps many types (am wondering if with GMO they have fixed this) can't seem to control how much water they intake.
Too much water out there, too much water in there, and here at least they crack and are ruined.

Take it easy out there tomatoes. Actually headed out there right now as the sun is coming up. Lovely time of day.

Am studying a big rain cloud on radar, wondering if I could actually get an hour of lawn mowing in...
My driveway is dry except in the shade, which is my indicator usually that in this sandy
soil I can mow without issues.

RoyJackson;
Stopped by Wal-Mart and picked up the gas grill I bought. It came assembled...sort of. Most of the screws were loose . Guess I'll tighten them up this afternoon...
...............................
Good timing on the grill with 3H's arriving towards end of weekend into next week.

Cool today, upper 70s, but by the weekend mid 90s.
Got the grandson all week, breakfast with my friends this morning.
Prayers and good wishes to all.

A blue sky again and set to rise to 28C/82F today. Certainly not wishing for rain just yet as baler is not due to come until Thursday, but the sheep would certainly appreciate one of CWB's cool starts to the day.

Got an email this morning to say the engineering institution I've been a member of for many years will be terminating the email service I've always used for the important contacts like banks and utilities. I will have to say goodbye to my name @iee.org, and find a new provider. I don't mind paying if it gets me a secure service that is ad free and independent of whoever supplies our broadband in the future. Hopefully one that will still be around right up to when the day comes when I can no longer type. Anyone used ProtonMail.com ?

Roy, glad you got the BBQ. tightening fasteners is easier than assembling.

Do you mind telling me what you got for your Woods Chipper Shredder. I am getting low ball offers. Below my $1200 low asking price. It is same as yours, but by Bear Cat with a 20hp engine instead of PTO.

We have had 1.94in of rain since 4AM this morning wow. Too much rain for tomatoes causes what you are experiencing Drew. In about five days you will be asking for shade and rain

I got a few peppers picked, and pleased to see my purple peppers are growing nicely.
then it started to sprinkle, then it started to rain, and hasn't stopped.
So today is a washout, at least it's much cooler.
And I did do some weeding this morning, a few patches of onions now recognizable.

Brought in one calico lima bean and am going to shell it shortly. They seem to be getting fatter in there, need to know
how plump is pickable.

Made a trip to the food pantry to deliver my meager little bag of four mild jalapeno's, and they were busy setting up for distribution.
My main contact there gave me a ten ounce bar of some awesome 62% cacao chocolate, no reason why, but I will use it to put into brownies
to give them extra flavor, and for sure, will make a batch and take them down for next Tuesday's gang of volunteers.
Of course I had to try it when I got home, just a little nibble, and what a nice flavor that just stays and stays.
No wonder women like this stuff so much. Maybe it's my feminine side that likes it...:D

It was warmer this morning 44*, yesterday was in the low 80's and sunny all day. Today will be in the mid 80's and clear but the wind will be back 20-30 mph. They don't show any rain in the ten day forecast.

Got the neighbors fence done and cleaned out the camp trailer. I found stuff I didn't know I had in there.

Going to town this morning for my wife's therapy.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Low of 54, going up to 97...way too hot. Humidity still very low at 8%. Maybe a 20% chance of a isolated t-storm on Thursday....I hope.

Looks like the fire season has started big time in northern CA. Hopefully they can get a handle on it before it takes out more houses. RNG...are there fires near you?

They had a brief clip of the lava river (more like Rapids) in HI. Boy was it moving fast..scary stuff!

Ortho visit went pretty well. Surprisingly he didn't want to stick a needle in the knee...he said too soon since the last time. No new damage seen in X-ray, he just thinks it is severely irritated. Prescribed an oral anti inflammatory med, kept me off work this week, and restricted work hours down to 20 for the following month.

Ed, I hope the fan issue gets resolved with out issue.

Roy, congrats on the grill. Happy grilling!

Everyone have a great day, stay out of the heat, and stay comfortable. Prayers sent.

69°F and thunder storms this morning, going up to 85°. The storms woke me about 04:30, freaked out the dogs, and even the cat jumped off the bed . In fairness, there were some pretty energetic lightning and thunder events.

Several active cells missed us yesterday evening just to the south. Lots of lightning and thunder, but no rain for us. Glad we are getting some today, as we certainly need it. More expected on Thursday, then 98° on Friday. Ouch ... hot and humid.

Congrats on the new grill, Roy.

Ed had a carrier unit that did that years ago sounded like we were sleeping on a runway at the airport five minute fix and done never happened again

He is supposed to have a new fan with him when he comes, but he was supposed to be here early this morning and the morning is almost over. Ed

Drew, is that the same as a speckled butter bean?

68°F and .62 inches rain so far last 24 hours.

Another day in the garage. Small progress in one corner yesterday. Think I’ll put a coat of fresh paint on those shelves while empty.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

I had a garden when I lived on Oahu many years ago. Had a section of volunteer okra. They grew taller then me. And they were very good, provided you picked them young. Wait a day too long and they may have been better firewood.

We tried air frying okra a couple of weeks ago, that was awful! Back to the pan or the oven.

Air frying corn taco shells is tricky - too long they are brittle, too short they are limp, just right they are too hard. Cracked my tooth on one last night on the way to my old dentist 2 hr drive low tire warning came on. Fast forward to now have a temp crown and waiting in discount tire for flat repair. Long day.

Randy I like okra baked covered with a cornmeal and spice mixture using the okra’s own slime as the batter to get the dry mixture to stock to it with a side of ketchup.

David, still trying to get to loading my new 13 drawer tool chest. This evening there is a concert in the pavilion, so maybe tomorrow.

There's been some recent discussions about spaghetti sauce. I can vaguely remember my mother making her own sauce when I was a kid, and I think it was nearly an all day job. And there was a time when my wife made her own, but in our old age, we just buy a jar off the shelf at Walmart; Great Value brand that costs $1.50 a jar. So today I decided to upgrade to something better. I bought the same size jar of RAO's, imported from Italy, at a cost of $6.18. Yep, it cost 4 times as much, and was about half as good as the cheap stuff.:laughing: Oh, well, not the first mistake I ever made.

Here is the dentist pill pack he gives after a big procedures. According to him and his patients it works better than prescription drugs for tooth pain. IMG_2072.JPG
