51 right now...high in the mid-70's and maybe some rain.

I'm a Viet Nam vet...lucky enough to be on a ship rather then in country though (the Navy is the tradition in our family). I did lose a few high school friends though. I've noticed as I grow older, Memorial Day means more to me than barbeques and beer...must be facing my mortality.
Enough rambling...

Plans are dependent on the weather. I really need to mow the field (grass is about a foot high) but I'm sure it's way too wet now. Finished lawn mowing and weed-whacking yesterday...I'll have to think about work today...

Good morning! 74˚ heading to 97˚ clear skies.
Our AC is set at 72 at night and 75 during the day.
I took another 250 pavers to mom's to extend her sidewalk yesterday. I'll wait till it gets cooler before I start digging.

I have my phone pager set so I get a text whenever our VFD or a connecting VFD has a call. My phone went off about 10 minutes ago, the Fire Department between us and Kyle just got a call, an accident with a car and a crude oil tanker, with flames visible, not a good morning for someone.

70 going to 81 and chance of rain each day through at least Sunday.

Took Coco on a hike to survey the damage from yesterday's storm...2.19 inches of rain on very saturated ground. Another small washout at my bridge...but I have a friend who may want to come dig sand with me...take a pickup load home. Picked up a few small branches, but not really too much...I think the previous storms have cleared the trees of most of their old limbs and branches. It was very quiet and a bit foggy when I went out, and then I noticed someone running a mower far off...couldn't believe anyone was mowing with the grass so wet and the ground so wet their is still standing water in many places...then I remembered the church down the road uses a landscape company...bet I'll see evidence of their mowing when I drive into town later today.

Went kayaking and fishing with a group yesterday...water was high and a bit cloudy but fish were super hungry, so had good fishing...nearly got stuck trying to drive my pickup up the steep woods trail from the river...clay was wet and slick and some exposed roots wanted to block my tires...this was as the big storm was approaching and thunder all around.

Roy, and others, thank you for your service to our country and for the freedom enjoyed by many around the world.

Jim, no snakes and all those cute koalas, what a marvelous island.

Close but no cigar. No Koalas. They're over the ditch with them Aussies. In fact we have no poisonous spiders, scorpions, or carnivores either.

51F cloudy now mid 70's for high w/sun peeking now and than.

Not much plan for today...sharpen chain on chainsaw,reloctate couple of game cams,trip to village store maybe to chew fat,might check out 49 Farmall Cub for sale...all plans subject to change w/out notice.

Finally Doe given birth to single fawn 5/26 lower field where its thick but lots of high grass and woods Doe keeps her young well hidden,3 different times on video during the day/night Mom watching over fawn also feed...fingers cross for least 2 more fawns.
