L3301 3 pt hitch

I have a kubota l3301 and adjusting the height on the 3 pt hitch is difficult. Is there a tool that I can use to turn the adjustment arm? I use an adjustable wrench now and its not working. I attached a picture

If you loosen the jam nut it should move by hand try and lube the threads..

Are you trying to raise/lower an implement when you are turning it?
Do you realize that the nut is separate from the rest of the adjuster, and is there to keep it from unplanned moving? I just went out to mine (same tractor) and once I backed the stop nut off it spins easily. It also helps to keep the threads greased.

Yes I realize that and i always loosen the nut. I guess i need to grease the threats which I havent done yet

It looks like you have a grease fitting on it.. Fill it up and spin the threads into the tube and back out.

Before greasing, suggest you remove the lower end of the adjusting link from its lift arm.

The reason is to see if it turns easily by hand. It should. You are only checking the lower set of threads by turning the end of the link.

You should also be able to turn the center portion of the link by hand.

If it turns easily with the end disconnected and hence no weight on it, there is likely enough grease in it already.

When you next do a major greasing of your tractor put a small amount of the same grease in the link.

If it is hard to turn, then remove the link completely for a through inspection of the threads.

Your tractor looks almost new. The link is like a turnbuckle. One set of right hand threads and one set of left hand threads.

The adjustment portion needs to be started on each set of threads at the same time so it takes up the slack evenly.

If someone has turned one end, then it may be bottomed out and although you can still see threads on the other end, you cannot use them.

If it is not easy to turn with the lock nut backed off something is wrong.

Thank you. It is pretty new and im still learning. Right now, the side with the adjustment (right) is on ground but the left side isnt. I still see plenty of thread and turning either way is difficult. I think I will just disconnect everything and try again. Its a bushhog that i have hooked up. It seems easy but....

I occasionally take the Lifting Rod apart and use a rag soaked with diesel oil or WD-40 to clean off accumulated dirt. After fitting threads are clean I grease it via the right Lifting Rod zerk/grease nipple. You may find Lifting Rod threads loaded with factory paint.

Kubota specifies "Multipurpose Grease" for the chassis and Three Point Hitch. Multipurpose Grease is a generic as grease comes. You can buy Multipurpose Grease almost anywhere; Tractor Supply, Walmart, Napa Auto, etc.



Adjust the Bush Hog level on the ground, when there is no tension on the Lifting Rods. Then raise and measure mowing height at front of deck. Bush Hog deck should be slightly lower near the tractor, where a properly adjusted Bush Hog cuts, and slightly higher at the rear, where clippings exhaust.

(Raised, you cannot adjust right Lifting Rod. Too much tension from Bush Hog weight.) Lower to ground and adjust again on ground, if necessary.

I replaced mine with a hydraulic cylinder. But putting TnT on along with hydraulics to run them are a couple grand. So nice when hitching up with a Quick Hitch or running any kind of grading blade though.

As Dave said, the lower threads may be bottomed out, The upper threads are visable:

Those silly short bars they put on them are a good place to hook a long box wrench for leverage.
