38 and snow on the radar, but the weatherman says it is melting before it gets to the ground. Looking for 53 later.

David, congrats on passing the test!...may have been some guesses, but clearly educated guesses if you made a perfect score.

This global cooling is crazy...had to start the woodstove again Saturday, and bring in more firewood to the porch yesterday... a very unusual April chore. Our lows will be in the 30s at least 2 or 3 more nights.

I owned an XKE and a Ford GT and really loved the way they held the corners on the slot car track :).

LMBO, I had a Superbird and Talladega Torino on one of mine.

Ddoherty135 welcome to our community

Cars wife and I really like them and we have had numerous types some good some bad but at this stage in our life comfort is very important dependability and dealers who can take care of you if a problem develops. The British make beautiful cars still have quirks but overall pretty good vehicles. German cars hard to beat in ride and technology especially the big boys ie Mercedes and BMW Porsche etc. US manufacturers trucks are my limits as that's what I've owned. Japanese cars and SUVs we've owned several over the years interiors weak wear out pretty quick in our experience but do get one from point a to b.

Have personally tried Bentley, Aston Martin , Audi , MGB , Triumph Lamborghini and lots of others true the years. The younger years ride not so important now it is

Prayers for those in need

I didn’t think it was a big deal, and you aren’t the first or only to post them. Not sure, other than politics, why anyone would care, reading is optional.

I agree

40's this AM. Suppose to be the last day of this drab weather for a while.

Yesterday's plans changed with the burn pile additions. Went to cut up some more trees and the chainsaw seemed to be stuck on full-throttle. It's a cheapo model, only had it for a few years. Rather than risk something stupid happening I returned to the home base and broke out the mowers. This was the first grass cutting of the season for me. The grasses did not look tall, but you know, I spent two hours cutting the property. It was cold enough to switch the hands to the pockets on occasion and keep the hoody on.

In any case, that's done for a few days and maybe I can return to the saw inspection this week.

I got a nasty gram from the wife last night after I fell asleep. Seems I forgot to take her boots off. It's hard adapting to all these little things we take for granted.

LOL.

Have a great day all. Be safe!

Doherty 135, Welcome, you live in a beautiful country!

Aaaaawwwwwww, thanks toppop52, I like it too! A bit rainy, but nothing’s perfect! It has the greenest hills in the world, and we Irish love them. May the luck of the Irish be with ou and your family!

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 4:45AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High near 75F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Misinformation is one of the problems with this new Internet Age, Don. Now anybody can be an "expert", and put whatever they want out there for us all to see. Truth and veracity have nothing to do with it.

The nice thing about old British vehicles is that you could work on them yourself. Still have a set of Whitworth wrenches and sockets somewhere around here. But then the bad thing about British vehicles is that you had to work on them to keep them going. The old saying "own a British vehicle and walk with pride" didn't come about spontaneously!

Congrats on passing the ham test, David! What will you use your new license for?

Welcome to the Good Morning!!!! thread, Ddoherty135. A whiskey tour in Ireland is on my bucket list!

Busy day yesterday. Pulled the wheels off my old utility trailer in the morning, stripped off the tires, bead blasted the rims, and repainted them. The old paint was flaking off from sitting in the sun and it looked horrible. New tires go on today. Also put up the tent I used in Death Valley and hosed the alkali out of it left by a huge wind storm that came up the last night there. Nice and warm day, so I was able to get it dried and put away before it got dark. Got a ride in on the old BMW, and it ran pretty well. Something's funny about the clutch, though, as it kept developing more play in the cable, as if the adjuster at the transmission end was loose. It wasn't, but something else could be. Readjusted it after I got it home, and will see if the problem persists when I go out again today. Pulled the transmission out of the big dirt bike yesterday. Pleased not to find any obvious problems, so hopefully replacing bearings and seals is all it will need.

Nothing like an old western to finish up a nice day, and "The Train Robbers" sure fit the bill. Hard to beat John Wayne and Ann Margret...

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!
