Has anyone had a blood test where there White Blood Count (WBC) was taken and if you don't mind please post your number. (Normal between 4.0 and 11.3)

It's been a while, but I think I was at 5.4 if my memory serves me. I have seen WBC levels as high as 21, but they were very sick people.

Cold today, 20F when I woke up. Nice and sunny, so not too bad. Took a long walk with the dogs, did some errands. Life is good.

Have a good one!

Good evening all. 40F this morning, clear, light wind. Wind picked up pretty quick, high clouds developed this afternoon, and high temp of 63F. this morning went to subdivision meeting recap, then bike ride, back on the Volagi, got the brake to drag less and quiet down.

Prayers for all.

Thanks LS
My lab says the normal range is 4.0 to 11.3, looks like you are on the lower side. You will enjoy this research.
What Does a Low White Blood Cell Count Mean? | NutritionFacts.org

Mine was flagged for being too low at 2.9 and I was feeling a little apprehensive till I saw the research. Now I feel much more confident.
It was made official today after blood test results and a visit to the cardiologist I'm now free of all meds. Apparently it takes a lot for a cardiologist to agree to stop the statins after a heart attack. He said he will be monitoring me closely, another blood test in 3 months.

I get blood tested every 4 months now, was 3. Had it done today. I never see the numbers, just a letter from doc saying all is well.

I guess I just more curious. If a DR prescribes a medication I need to know exactly why, I have to see the numbers. I need to know how much I'm out of the normal range. I get a printout of the labs.

Guess i should ask, since i pay for the tests.

K, your scaring me now--- you pretty much described exactly how this all played out: The surgeon has very good credentials from two of the best med schools , did 2 fellowships, one in trauma, the other in sports medicine. Practiced in Austria for a while at a trauma center. The surgery center specializes only in orthopedic surgery, the surgeons contract specific days to utilize the facilities. The facility is well known, some patients travel 1000's of miles to be treated there. Very up to date.

Actually, the situation you describe doesn't sound too bad, and is like the system my urologist uses. He rents time at the largest local hospital, and the equipment travels from hospital to hospital based on need. The important thing is that the doctor does NOT own the equipment, as it takes far longer to pay it off than it does to become obsolete. That could still be a concern if the surgery center owned the equipment and it was not affiliated with a source of income other than the surgeries being done there. If they do own it, but can't keep utilization high enough to pay it off quickly and be able to replace it when the state of the art improves, that is a problem, too. In a university setup, manufacturers will often loan the latest and greatest to get feedback and developmental help from the university medical staff. And the staff also teaches, and part of their job is to stay up to date on the latest techniques and trends.

The surgeon's credentials also sound pretty good. It would be especially good if his past clientele had a few famous sports stars; money is no object with those types and they'll go to great lengths to find a surgeon that knows the latest techniques and can get them back in the game the quickest. But I don't know if it's acceptable to ask a doctor, especially a surgeon, for references.

13 right now...high about 40. Although I can feel for the folks getting this early Spring nor'easter, I'm glad it's not us...

There is a warning on the roll bars about flipping. Only thing I can understand is the "!". I've got a couple of friends who know Japanese. If they have time to take from their theology studies and computer programming respectively, maybe they can tell me the gist of some of these warning labels on the tractor.

Is translation "Use only genuine Iseki touch-up paint" ?

The paintwork on yours looks immaculate. If the mechanical parts have been as well cared for, you have found a real gem there.

The paintwork is the work of Poles. The ROPS wasn't repainted though, and judging by that, it wasn't abused-- some scratches here and there, a bit faded color.
I will have to go around with a spray can-- surprising to me is that the FEL, which is new, made in Poland by the importers, has some parts that weren't painted.

Motor hours are 1067. The seller was using it all winter-- he said he had the engine checked out and it was in good condition. It sure starts easier than my car. No leaks anywhere either.

Good morning. -5C/23F overnight. Can't complain really as nowhere need as cold as some of you are having and at least it is another day of me not whining about mud.

Eric, my HST tractor has a clutch and it MUST be all the way to the floor in order to start and must be depressed in order to shift ranges.

That's not too bad on the knee if you only need to press that pedal at start up.

I don't understand why some (including Kubota ?) still have a clutch pedal on a HST when others manage fine without one. Perhaps it's to allow range shifting while on the move ? With Iseki/Massey, machine has to come to a standstill before range changing.

It’s going to snow later today, I hope the roads don’t get too bad. Ellen and I are headed to NC and plan returning around 7-8 tonight. Right in the predicted bullseye of the storm.
I’d hate to get stranded at a hotel...;)

The growing point of a corn plant stays below ground until vegetative growth stage 5 (V5). Which is when the 5th leaf sets on the whirl. Until that point a corn plant is capable of surviving a freeze but you will take a yield hit. Also at that point make sure the plant is not under any stress (nutrients or water) for maximum yields. At that time the plant sets the ear size. If you ever split a corn plant at v7-v8 you can find the ear and the tassel in the whirl. Staging Corn Growth

thanks Farmer! What this means is I can take a little risk...local farmers say some have planted already, getting the first crop in early so as to have time for another in the Fall. Or be first to market.
I'm still going to wait as long as I can to plant the corn.

I have some real issues with cross pollination I'm going to start another thread on. 8 varieties, 6 heritage non GMO and I'm told a variety of strange things can happen when they have too much happy time out there together...
And my neighbor intends to plant corn next to me too. Hmmmm.

38 out now, colder weather has moved in but thankfully not the mess up North.
Randy, you're nuts driving today. Why not wait? You're both retired, right?
be safe...and preplan that motel will you? ;)

Half an inch of rain last night, ground is pretty mushy. I can only wonder if all my beets, carrots and grass seed have washed down into the Pamlico River.

Google Translate app for Android can take a photo of text to translate. Now I know what that warning sticker on the ROPS says:

1, Please drive with lobbs and cabin installed correctly. 2, Robbs and cabin, please do not remodel. 3, Please do not use those damaged. 4, When the tractor falls please do not jump out of the seat firmly the handle. 5, Please be sure to tighten the seatbelts, please adjust to an easy condition. 6, Please use genuine parts for the seat belt 7. Please do not tighten the seat belt when knocking down the lobbs.
