The feature of the UPWALKER is not so much the seat but the raised arm hold that adjust so the person rest his elbows on the walker thus standing up straight and not hunched over. The pressure is taken off the wrist and hands and the back is straight.

I’ve seen it advertised, on TV, several times. I don’t need one (knock on wood) but, it sure seems to be a better design.

If we had that at that giant Instant Pot at the fish fry we could bake those 75 pounds of beans in 30 minutes instead of all day.

I’m guessing the one in the picture is for commercial food processing........ or a family of 437?

Good evening all. 34F, some cloudiness, light wind. Wind increased to more moderate, Sky clouded up more and high temp was 65F. Cleaning lady prep this morning, work consulting, dog sitting , and bike ride.

Yep, that the one I saw on TV. Sure seems like it makes sense. I’ve watched folks, with traditional walkers, moving along head down, focused on what’s 3 ft. In front of them. Makes my neck hurts watching them.

BTW, Don and Kyle, I’m heading up to Waco tomorrow morning for funeral of a long time friend I met in Vietnam Nam in 68. He is a Marine and I was USAF. I’ll miss him, we went thru a lot together there and since.

Is Hazel in the box yet? I would not turn my back on her. Try not to raise her suspicions. It could get ugly.

Flipping Hazel onto her back rendered her harmless. That's how the cliff sensor blinders were applied, and after they didn't work, were removed. To get her back into the box, it was a peaceful act to hold down Hazel's "Start" button for three seconds to put her to sleep, one last time. Saving all of that factory packaging made it simple to send her off in grand style, and at this moment she's probably halfway to Phoenix and her home away from home with Amazon. She's their problem now...:smiley_aafz: Appropriate feedback has been registered with Amazon in hopes others don't go down the same unfortunate road. Tranquility is restored to the homestead.

It's somewhat ironic that I screened Alien Covenant last night. Hazel and David would have gotten on well together I think. Truly, though, with so many obvious problems, I wonder just how rigorous iRobot's testing of the thing was. I bet if every employee was made to take one home for a week, the resulting product would be far more reliable, or it wouldn't be on the market at all.

I am feeling now like I should have back dragged the drifted snow off the front deck with the tractor rather than physically dealing with it.

After doing more harm than good to my house frame, foundation, and septic piping with the tractor, I now try to stay at least five feet away from it, even if it means using a shovel and rake instead of hydraulics. It might result in some sore muscles, but that has saved even more sore muscles, as well as dollars spent at Home Depot.:shocked:

My neighbor has something like that, a bit smaller. It has a pipe coming out the top though-- he bottles what comes out and it will probably kill most bacteria.

On clear mornings like this the sun now chases off the frost before I've caught up on this thread. Some may attribute that to it being being higher in the sky, although I suspect it's as much to do with the length of time it takes me to read Jay's big words

RNG, sorry your experiment with a female robot didn't turn into true love. I guess I won't look at them Monday when I go to Costco. One of my chores when I was a kid was to vacuum the house. I kind of liked it...strangely soothing and instant results...my wife does most of it now, but I don't mind when I need to take a turn.

Vehicle passed inspection yesterday...mechanic came in and said, 100% healthy...plan on giving it to my youngest son next week. Nice seeing a lady there that I worked with about 10 years ago.

Used my grapple for the first time to lift up a big downed tree to cut into rounds...wow, what a back saver, and chainsaw didn't touch any dirt. Need to move an empty pallet up to my splitter today and split it all and go back after 3 more trees.

My sister emailed last night at 9pm saying power had finally come back to Princeton NJ. Down for more than two days, she is sure happy she got a Generac 22kw just like mine. So all systems go for heading North later today. It's Monday morning coming home I'm more concerned with.

Hard to convince someone that should spend $600 on a walker. My mother was like that. Amazon helped a lot. Only sent one item back from my mother. Most of the items worked good. Sent back item was a expensive back brace.
