First of all, I wouldn't start ANY tractor without making SURE it's in neutral!!

Secondly, I sure as heck wouldn't grab a can of ANY color and not check to see what's in it BEFORE pouring something out of it!!

What ever happened to folks taking responsibility for there OWN actions!!!

Dang, I hate it, when folks always blame "someone else" for there OWN actions!!

BTW, many of my tractors don't even have a nuteral safety switch! and that's just the way I like it!

I was talking about not killing others more than ourselves.

And my point is, "others" should check to see if the tractor is in gear before starting it, or STAY AWAY from the tractor.

"Others" should check to see what is in a can BEFORE pouring anything out of it...

This is nothing but "common sense" and who ever doesn't have common sense should NOT blame "others" for them hurting their selves...

Personally I am starting to think common sense is not that common these day. :)

Having small kids for so long (they are 20 now) around the equipment helped me learn to think for those who may not think for themselves perhaps. Most non farm adults today really can be clueless to equipment dangers. We had a 71 year old farm boy who grew up with M Farmalls not long ago flip over his ATV and he was found dead in the pasture. In my case I guess I see myself as my brother's keeper.

Nor'easter winds rolling through this AM. Power dropped around 7:15 AM & the 22kw whole house unit kicked on. Duke Power says crews are out & expect power return around noon. Looking at their outage map, that might be optimistic. Nice to be able to enjoy a hot cup of coffee & fix breakfast....

ETA: fingers crossed the tree supported wire antennas (2 ladder line fed full wave loops) don't get trashed!

Over here further East in NC the power has gone off twice this morning, and back on again.
Enough to have to set the clocks on the stove and microwave, again...
Remarkable they can't put a fifty cent battery in there for backup.
supposed to be 25-35 with gusts to 50mph for us today. Going to be a lot of limbs down.
Hope those North of us today fare ok.

Sounds like you guys had a good one blow through........ your antennas will be fine; best time to work on 'em is in the middle of a blizzard :blacksmith: :rotfl:

Power went out at 8AM about for about 3 hours. It's daylight and not too cold so the wife didn't bother rolling out the genny. We have a Co-Op so they are quick to handle outages, but since the local backyard weather station reported a gust of 61mph, the chances were slim that they were going to be able to restore power if it was more than a breaker pop. Trees are taking out wires and blocking roads all over this area.

My power went out just enough to turn off the tv last night. The power has yet to go out long enough to kick on the automatic since I've installed it.
