So, I need to pull down some trees that are hung up on other trees. Some are very large oaks. I own a small 25hp tractor. After some research, it looks like a few snatch blocks and cable will do the trick. I don't believe I need to invest in any sort of winch attachment to do this, as I just cut wood for myself in my own woods. Maybe a hand winch like the More Power Puller would do the job, but that thing is over 300 bucks. So, could someone recommend a few snatch blocks and cable? Other thoughts?
I've rolled many leaners out of the tree they're hung up in. Wrap a chain around the trunk many times, then use a tractor, 4x4. or come-along to unwind the chain. Doesn't take nearly as much horse power / brute strength to roll a tree as it does to pull them down.No roots attached.
