I would be looking for a clear pic of the control knobs on the stove to rule out that back left burner. Also it was not spontaneous if it was being used at the time.

i think those fries got a bit crispy.. I wonder if they left the room...once it started to smoke you would have thought they would pull the plug.

I've spent almost five hours today sorting through paperwork, making files, doing office work I have put off since I moved here.
Got a lot done, though of course you wind up making a new pile of to do's whenever you clean stuff up.
Filled up my paper shredder, wonder if that shredded paper would make good garden mulch? I should dump it on my burn pile and light that tomorrow, can't ask for
better tinder.

Never left the house today, just watched the snow melt during the day. By end of tomorrow, most should be gone.
One nice thing about a black paved driveway out in the sun snow sure melts fast.
As we shovel snow, and I got off light today, David and his wife sitting on that Hawaiian mountaintop just smile in contentment.

I think it's interesting that a common theme for alien bad guys is to have some kind of scorpion stinger. The "space operas" I read involving
alien contact, and boy there's a lot of them out there, often depict the nasty insect like killer alien with a huge stinger as a tail.
Maybe the authors grew up in the SouthWest. I'm not sure I've ever seen one and frankly have no desire. Particularly the aliens...

The day of "Kulture" over, and a take out barbecue dinner in hand, we are home. Despite cultural/ethnic challenges I make a really decent rib (jerk/smoke/mop and cook long and slow). I can smoke a lot of stuff, but I can not smoke decent brisket (yet). I admit to having "religious" experiences at any decent deli, but barbecue and brisket = NIRVANA

Despite one's perspective, the "Post" movie is worth watching. To see Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks acting together (for the first time which I did not know) is amazing. They have a special "chemistry" together onscreen.

18F now. I need to get diesel fuel and clear parts of the roof tomorrow. I will back off on the "mix" temperatures are "warming" I noticed a loss of power with the current "rich" mix of additive.

You must really enjoy going down to the Big Apple and chowing down Jay

Lungs are not at optimum (90% intact and I am lucky; my 02 stats would put some of the readers here to shame and I do not know why); BP high, but controlled; a strange, but "decent" cholesterol level; a tad fast, but heart keeps pumping. I agree about the high quality "Kosher" foods for catastrophic cardiac events.

There are very isolated "Kosher Style" deli's throughout the eastern seaboard CONUS. I have found a few in the "quest." According to the Food History program the Irish corned beef and cabbage dinner (a NE staple) started when immigrating Irish hooked up with immigrating Jews from Europe in NYC and history was made.

I asked the "talking head" at that barbecue joint if the ribs were parboiled  He said absolutely "NO."............ Trust me they were parboiled. How can anyone ruin a good rack of ribs with parboiling them before smoking them is beyond me. Maybe some of the participants here can set me straight with parboiling, but why drain a tasty, greasy piece of meat of flavors by boiling it before cooking it. The brisket seemed boiled too :eek":eek: No real crust and absolutely no smoke rind band.:eek: This seems to be a NE thing....... wrong..... wrong. In defense of NE barbecue joints the iced tea can come unsweetened. The last time I had Southern iced tea I almost got out of the truck to run beside it.

I don't think I'd last long in Texas, Bird. Never saw a scorpion of any kind until I moved into this house. The first winter I found one on the bedroom wall, and killed it with a slipper. It was almost transparent, and folks up here call them bark scorpions. Found another one in the master bath the next year, and that spring I went around the house using up about five tubes of caulk filling every crack I could find. Haven't seen one since, but do find an occasional millipede or Mormon cricket, and would sure like to know how they're getting in!

As with most things in Texas ............

I've been using an Ortho termite barrier product (forgot what's in it), but it's probably way past time to re-apply it. I'll compare ingredients with Home Defense Max, but as I recall, HDM is one of those pre-mixed products where you end up paying a lot for the convenience of adding water.

I use it because I don稚 have any critters for a year at the time, it costs $12 at Home Depot with a battery powered sprayer and I get two applications inside and out, including the garage and the building that burned. I値l pay for that kind of convenience all day long. :D

By spontaneous, I mean nothing being done should started a fire. Again, I’m not saying there is veracity to the story, just putting it out there. May be hogwash, but just in case.

I can't begin to say how much I love my tractor....why the heck didn't I buy this thing sooner! Got my buckets hooks put on and now my quick hitch. Been plowing the drive a bit and just dug out the snow mound in front of the roads mailbox collection. Just got off of it and already want to go back out there and goof off!

I really like the pictures of your new rig and what I saw of your "operational" area. A really nice looking tractor; no scratches, scrapes, nor dents yet. They will come. I consider them character lines. I have a feeling that you will use it often, safely, and well. I wish you many hours of boring operation.

I look forward to more pictures. Old f@rt$ like pictures.

We applied for our a Senior National Park passes on 8/8/17 after txdon advised of the upcoming price increase last year. So far, no joy, no passes. Now we know why?

Price Increase Leads to Delays in Lifetime Senior Pass

OK, I think the terminology you are looking for is a "system malfunction" - According to the article under the Facebook pic it said it was being used at the time of the fire to make FF. Since there is an electrical burner element at the top of the machine we could speculate an unspecified electrical short or overheating. Careful examination of the burner and wires to see if there was any arching might reveal the exact cause of the fire. If it has a thermostat it could have malfunctioned or been defective causing the element to overheat and ignite the plastic outer cover. But I still would like to rule out that back left burner by checking the location of the notch on the metal rod on the burned stove control knobs. Also kind of leaning to the overheating because a breaker should have tripped if there was a short, got to check the breaker box also.

Good evening all. 20F this morning clear, light wind. High temp was all the way to 47F, moderate south wind, sky clear. Had to shorten up some firewood this morning, some needed splitting as well, got my wood rack almost half full again. High tomorrow is forecast for 57F, will let stove go out and clean up the ashes. Bike ride this afternoon, always harder to get started after several day layoff :ashamed::confused2:

Good morning all. Could not sleep so I finely just got up and started catching up on Good morning. I must be reading slower, it takes longer than it used to. 32 now, supposed to go down to 16 and then up to 49. Don't think we will make 16 tonight.

Randy, You are stringing this tractor buying thing out a long time. Just go ahead and buy it! Hope it works out well for you.

Have a good day. Ed

Saw below on the Texas Farm Bureau daily news email I get.

An 鐔*H HA! Moment on the glyphosate debate.

WHO cancer agency denies wrongdoing in glyphosate inquiry - Texas Farm Bureau

When I see the name of any organization start with the word World it becomes suspect very quickly.

Rick, interesting. There are a lot of people who want to ban everything that doesn't meet up with their personal "beliefs", without any serious thought about the alternatives. Sounds like another unscrupulous character cashing in on that.

Clear skies have sent us back below freezing, with a lazy sun that's taking it's time while it considers whether or not to clear the frost from the roof.

Dangerous times for me. Agricultural machinery dealer rang and asked if he could call by this morning ...

Einthewoods, great to see the new love in your life. Go steady, keep safe and keep having fun
