Has any state that legalized recreational use set a limit for test for impairment. For alcohol above .08 bac you are assumed impaired. Below that you may be impaired. Anything similar for mj

Yes - in WA state the limit is - 5 nanograms of active THC per milliliter of blood. Now, I have absolutely NO idea what that converts back to in joints smoked.

But since POT appears to vary in intensity and THC content, guessing by how it is grown, plant maturity, supplemented w/ nutrients and handled prior to end user custody, it seems that folks would NOT be able to predetermine when limits will be reached. Since blood analysis by the general public is beyond normal capability, all motor vehicle operation should be restricted if pot is to be consumed. I am aware that residual THC remains in the blood stream for a much longer duration than alcohol or the hard narcotic drugs. If this thread degrades to the ad homonym name calling and insults, outright attacks and even threats, as did the former, let not the result surprise YOU.

Someone Who Isn't Me () recently had a chance to purchase legal marijuana at a store in Portland OR. Everything on the shelf was very thoroughly labeled with THC and CBD content by weight, as well as how much was in each container, who it was produced by, which lab had done the testing, which retailer had some it, and how long to would take to take effect after consumption. Also, it was sold in child-resistant containers.

Not saying anyone should drive under the influence of any amount of thc, just wanted to show that at least in some jurisdictions, the labeling is very thorough. More so than alcohol, even.

.05 here in our State but drug use has a different way of operating, there is a roadside test which can show positive then you are taken to a police station or drug and alcohol bus and analysed with a more accurate device, if this reads negative you are allowed to leave and drive, but, the sample is then sent off for analysis by more reliable means and if it returns a positive result you are then charged on summons and taken to court.
All the tests reflect what drug is in the system and there is what is called a negligible reading but I have no idea what that is.
I do not use drugs but I do wonder how many drug affected drivers are around me on the road when I see the police shows and how many positive results they get.
There are no sobriety tests, just breath analysis for alcohol, you either pass or become an instant pedestrian.

I did a little more research and found that there currently is NO METHOD for road side determination of the level of THC in a persons blood.

Nothing to blow into - nothing for rapid blood analysis - no method for physical detection of THC levels.

SO........ detention or incarceration based upon some kind of determination, that a person appears stoned, will most likely be in for a serious legal challenge.
