Farmer, my Instant Pot came from Amazon in July of last year, a red hot special deal Don let us all know about. It's a 6 quart, delivered for a few pennies more than $75. Now only used ones are available at Amazon, except the 3 quart size, which probably isn't big enough even for a single guy like me, let alone a family. Lots of other places are selling them, but not being an Instant Pot expert, maybe Don can comment on the differences between the same size models: instant pot 6 - Google Search

.

Yep, that when we bought ours too. Maybe Instant Pot owes Don some $commissions$ for all the sales? Of course Don probably owns more IP’s than all the rest of us put together.

There are many more since I got mine 3 years ago. I have not kept up on all the models. On the Instant Pot web site there is a good comparison. https://instantpot.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Instant-Pot-Product-Comparison-Nov-27-2017.pdf I do know there are now 4 sizes and some models with bluetooth but I like to stick to basics. We got the DUO 6 qt. Our previous model was the LUX 6 qt. Both work great. The LUX has high pressure only the DOU has low and high pressure. Some of the preset buttons automatically use different pressures on the DUO. The price difference is about $20 more for the DUO, but if you use the code AJ you save $10 on the DUO on the Instant Pot site only.

The two we use almost every day one is the LUX one is the DUO. The Duo has the extra pressure button to adjust the pressure but we really don't use it.

It's really good for mashed potatoes. We put garlic and potatoes and water in it, set it for 3 minutes and then use a hand blender right in the pot, easy, quick, delicious.

Now, with all this IP talk, I think I need to gather up supples to make a batch of IP Cowboy Beef Stew.

Well if farmer gets one I'll have to buy another to make that true. My wife did say she could have three going at the same time and always need a spare . . . .

For rice and beans it is a big time saver and you don't have to stir it or watch it for burning, just set the timer or push the appropriate button and as soon as it gets to pressure the watch the countdown on the pot. If you have a full pot and frozen veggies in it, the start of the countdown could take up to 10 minutes as it heats and builds pressure.

That sounds wonderful, Don. Quick'n'easy, too. Thanks!:licking:

Forget to close the steam release and you'll get burned rice. DAMHIKT:( Soaking overnight in water and a green scrubby pad cleaned it right up, though.

28°F and very windy this morning, going up to 37° today. We seem to have settled into an alternating patter of late; warm day, cold day, warm day, cold day, ...

All this Instant Pot talk on here recently. Guess I need to look into these contraptions.

BEF, when my Wife and I started dating 14 years ago, I had a long goatee that was down to my chest (had a lot more color in it back then, too). She made it very clear that she didn't like it, so I trimmed it off, and have kept it pretty short since then. Earlier this year, she made a comment to a friend that she likes to play with it when it's longer, but I always keep it too short. :confused3: Sometimes, you just can't win.

Yea, l can relate. I had a beard when we met, have it in the engagement pics, gone when we married. Never had one since, except for short occasions like now when im lying around at home.

It's a warmer 25* this morning, yesterday was nice it was in the mid 50's and sunny. It looks like it is going to be like that again today.

Picked up some scrap steel and bench from the neighbor yesterday.

Not much going on today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.
