Yeah, How long is a customer expected to put up with something like this ? When is enough, enough ?

Seems too long already frankly, but in my experience if you actually talk to the dealer in most scenarios like this there will be some extenuating circumstances of which we are not aware, and perhaps the OP is not aware. What the dealer must do is communicate with the customer concerning the plan of action. If you don't communicate with the customer, he will assume the tractor is sitting out back of the shop getting rained on as the dealer puts up Christmas lights.

Holy ****! Tractor fixed and returned today! One of their drivers /workers dropped it off to me.

I don’t have much time. Lots to do and then driving.

Short at the back of the fuse panel. The mechanic said he chased this problem for 2 1/2 days. Said the ECM or Engine Control Module was powered most of the time but when the short occurred must of been creating bad codes and problems with maybe the fuel something or other? All I know is it created havoc.

So let me ask your opinion on this.

I wish the dealer or Mahindra would have at least called me and said sorry for all your problems and here is what I (we) can do for your troubles.

Is that too much, for me to be asking now that they fixed it for me? After all these headaches, stress, frustration, and lost time?

I'll bet he shared just about every bit of your "headaches, stress, frustration and lost time" and that tractor sucked for both of you. You mentioned he was a small operation and being small, it doesn't take long to swallow up profit to the point he may have lost money depending on Mahindra's outlook on paying for his time. Hopefully this is the end and you'll remain friends and both be joking about this saga for years to come and I'd bet he'll treat you very well on bar oil, saw's and whatever you stop in there for in the future. Sitting back from afar, it's east to see both sides and I bet he might be just as upset at Mahindra as you are.
I sure hope this is over for you Gas!

It's like having a skilled doctor with bad bedside manners. After he heals you, you feel like tripping him in a hallway.

Everyone suffered some in this. The dealer will get nowhere close to all of his diagnostic hours and hauling and such, although since the service rep came out and didn't immediately know what the problem was I bet they pay him a fair bit. Mahindra has suffered due to this thread and a perception that they were not aggressive in getting this repaired. You have surely suffered as you have well described.

But I do think it would be proper for someone to give you a follow up call, apologize for the lengthy repair process, etc. As for $$ directly, I don't think so. But maybe a heck of a deal on your next implement.

Intermittent short at the back of a fuse panel, yes that's a tough one to find for sure. Glad they stayed on it and got it done.

Agree. This is where I would make my point again. It is a Mahindra problem. They built it. It is a quality problem. Material, process, tolerances, etc. allowed by their quality control in manufacturing it. So it seems to me Mahindra should step up for the customer AND for the dealer. (So dealer doesn’t lose his profit. My god the dealers sell their tractors and bring all that money in for them.)

I wouldn’t ask for cash. And I don’t feel like I should have to ask for anything. I would think that Mahindra would step up to the plate now.

Back up what they put all over their website. “Mahindra. Toughest Tractors On Earth.” “True Grit Never Taps Out.” And under the 3500 series. “These premium performers offer super-powered 4WD and the gusto to go after medium to heavy-duty agriculture, industrial, or other applications.”

A simple phone call now that it is fixed to say sorry for all your problems with your tractor. And here is a certificate for _________ off an implement that will gradually help save you some of that time back that you lost. And we really appreciate your business.

I guess that’s the same as asking for cash. Isn’t it?

I resisted even posting on this but here goes,

So Gasifier, are you looking for a pat on the head? When you see the dealer at some point I would bet he will say something but for now he is probably waiting to see if the short was the only problem.

On top of that it wouldn't surprise me that the dealer and Mahindra are aware of this thread and your posts on other web sites regarding this topic. They are probably also aware of when you tore the forks off this tractor due to not having them pinned on properly, and you blamed that on Mahindra even though it was you that didn't pin them properly when you attached them. Makes me wonder what caused the short in the fuse panel, might have been a materials or assembly problem but it might also have been excessive jarring of the tractor. We will never know.

Gasifier, I don't doubt that you have some legitimate complaints, but after reading your various posts, I strongly suspect you are a chronic complainer.

Wrong. I’ve worked many machines before with never having the pins come out of them. That I can remember. I always make sure the handles are locked down. Another Mahindra quality control problem I’m sure. You are correct on one thing you said. I am a chronic complainer, of this Mahindra tractor. Look around on the web all you want. You won’t see that I was complaining about the other machines I’ve owned. Kubotas, Deere, Bobcat B300. Just getting a lot of work done with them. And yes. I work my machines. I don’t buy them to be barn queens.
