Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Yea, this thread which I started, has only 8000 posts and a measly 1.6 million views. What is your longest running thread? ;)

That's right. Travelover started this thread almost 10 years ago with the folding trailer and angle grinder. I remember reading it at the time and thinking it would be a short thread. After all, HF tools that don't suck?

Look how far HF quality has come in that time.

For those of you that have enough free flashlights, this is a welcome free coupon - the small moving blanket. I use these to cover the car seat when the dog comes along, to lay on when I work under my car, even to protect things I'm moving! Harbor Freight Tools Coupon Database - Free coupons, 25 percent off coupons, toolbox coupons - 40" X 50" MOVING BLANKET
Check the stock number carefully if you use this coupon. Some people are reporting that they can't find this blanket - maybe it is new?

Front Porch is one of the two places you cannot get to on TBN without requesting access. The other is "Friendly" Politics.

I see Friendly Politics but not Front Porch listed in the index to forums. Is there a secret trapdoor or something to Front Porch?? Invitation Only?

Welcome. I stuck my head in Front Porch and looked around ... and didn't see anything I felt I was sorely missing, so I'm back out.

Thanks again - this time for doing the scouting. Years ago I looked at the word-association game and didn't pursue it. If you didn't find anything you felt you were missing ... I'm just going to rely on that appraisal.

Handy, yes but if you keep in the barn, put in a plastic bag. The mice LOVE them.

Anybody know if the Microfiber Cleaning Cloths are suitable for cleaning eyeglasses? I've been using one on my welding helmet lens with no scratches or dulling of the window.

Not sure I'd clean my glasses with them since my shirt tail works so well. they are perfect, however, for dusting anything with them. The inside of the truck, dash, gauges, etc and no dust stays behind. That, if I would ever wax the truck, seems to be their highest purpose. Dust is just drawn to them and stays on the cloth. The surface looks too irregular to do a good job on glasses.

I discovered microfiber cloth is worthless in the real world. If you drop one in the woods you will never get the debris back out of the fibers. If you live in a clean world, they are OK. My world ain't clean. Probably cleaning glasses is OK if the rag is clean. I don't see why not.

Unless you are using a high quality microfiber cloth you may get micro scratches on the poly lenses. The cloth towels provided by optical places. Have a soft fine texture like silk.
I believe the lenses on a welding helmet is glass.
