I totally agree. I just started drinking coffee about 10 years ago. I always enjoyed the smell. Coffee tastes nothing like it smells....... How can that be????? :confused3:

Buy good quality beans and grind them just before brewing. It tastes like it smells.
Your welcome😊

I think you are probably right. I've never had what I considered a "true" cup of coffee. :)

Um, I must have missed the original thread. I've had my Kuereg for about 3 years now. My daughter and I use it pretty regularly. Actually she does more than I do.

I have never cleaned it. I guess I'm late to the party. This thread made me think about it. I guess I need to find the other thread or go to YouTube to see what I should do to clean it out.

I believe I posted the instructions for the vinegar cleanse, BUT it was meant for the tank NOT for the user; my apologies. I made a cup of coffee in the dark once...ONCE;I dutifully added sugar to my cup, brewed in the coffee and took a big gulp of the absolutely SALTIEST solution one has ever ingested.

I grabbed the kosher salt and not the raw sugar (both large crystals and both kept in stainless canisters) - yuck.

Whew! Thanks cold. I figured RSKY was blaming ME.

I clean my coffee maker with white vinegar by filling it up and turning it on. Halfway thru I shut it off for 10 minutes then turn it back on and let it finish perking the vinegar thru. It usually comes out light brown in color. Once that is done, dump the vinegar, rinse the pot with fresh water and run 2 pots of fresh water thru it.
You have to run 2 pots of plain fresh water thru it to clear any remaining vinegar then its ready to go. I've never had coffee taste like vinegar using this method. I have to do this about once a month due to hardness in my well water.

I did the vinegar cleanse on my Keurig pot and did exactly what you state but it took several pots of water to flush out the vinegar smell. I think after about 4 full tanks of water being run thru I could still detect the vinegar smell. I then tried a cup of coffee and it tasted OK and the coffee killed the vinegar smell. I vowed to just buy an new pot before going thru that again.
So far it has been about 2 years and it still works.

Closest Arby's is 60 miles away. When I do get there I go straight to the Beef and Cheddar. Next time I'll broaden my horizons....

Yeah, the hot Au Jus comes in a little cup, and you dip the end of your sandwich in it. Not very convenient when driving though. :)

Would that be the same thing my wife orders as a dip with her Prime Rib???

I am sorry to say that the coffee didn't quite perk with the vinegar. I had a stopped up sinuses at the time and did not smell the pure vinegar until after that first sip. It was quite startling to say the least.

I'm developing a strong dislike for the Keurig coffee machines ... need to babysit it and double the process (1 large AND 1 small) just to get a full cup. I'm constantly walking away and forgetting to finish the process ... then it randomly overfills the cup.

My sister in law "did something" to it this summer, when she did her OCD cleaning with vinegar every 2nd day. (I cleaned it about every 2 months). I think something broke - but I don't know what. Now the fine grind recyclable pods are torn in the machine, resulting in the grinds occupying the last 1/4 cup and mess up the sink when you pour it out, rather than drink the last drop. This never occurred previously.

We now use the plastic re-useable Keurig pods, but single cups only - ugh

I'm almost looking forward to the day that the Keurig quits altogether, and I can go back to the $25 old school coffee maker pot. Al least it is an advantage over Keurig when company is over... this one cup at a time process is annoying.

I agree with clerk that Timmy's is a good option - as long as it is Dark Roast

I need my 'covfefe'

cheers
