There is a thread somewhere here about the Keurig coffeemakers where some a-hole suggested filling the reservoir with vinegar and letting it sit overnight.............

So I did it.......

Then I filled reservoir with water so I could run it thru the next morning.

I hope you are happy.

I spit coffee made with vinegar all over the kitchen floor, countertop, and window.

5:30 AM and I was down on my hands and knees cleaning the floor.

HA HA!

RSKY

But it did clean off the coffee maker.

It could be worse....

Much worse...

You could have failed to fully flush the vinegar out of the coffee maker...

And made some coffee.

:shocked::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Been There Done That Bought the Coffee. :D:D:D

Sad thing was I went to the cafeteria and bought there coffee but it was so disgusting that my coffee made with vinegar water tasted better than their swill. I drank my vinegar water coffee that day.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

If coffee could only taste as good as it smells

One must be of a certain age to truly appreciate that line.

Folgers is good coffee. But it will not mask vinegar!

I believe coffee and vinegar is an excellent clear- the floor shines I’m sure.

I should imagine it works quite well at clearing ones internals as well!

It is said Apple Cider Vinegar taken on a regular basis is good for one's constitution.

I believe I posted the instructions for the vinegar cleanse, BUT it was meant for the tank NOT for the user; my apologies. I made a cup of coffee in the dark once...ONCE;I dutifully added sugar to my cup, brewed in the coffee and took a big gulp of the absolutely SALTIEST solution one has ever ingested.

I grabbed the kosher salt and not the raw sugar (both large crystals and both kept in stainless canisters) - yuck.

I clean my coffee maker with white vinegar by filling it up and turning it on. Halfway thru I shut it off for 10 minutes then turn it back on and let it finish perking the vinegar thru. It usually comes out light brown in color. Once that is done, dump the vinegar, rinse the pot with fresh water and run 2 pots of fresh water thru it.
You have to run 2 pots of plain fresh water thru it to clear any remaining vinegar then its ready to go. I've never had coffee taste like vinegar using this method. I have to do this about once a month due to hardness in my well water.

Pickled coffee. I haven't seen that one on the Starbucks menu yet.

I totally agree. I just started drinking coffee about 10 years ago. I always enjoyed the smell. Coffee tastes nothing like it smells....... How can that be????? :confused3:

It is the juice that a roast let's out as it is cooking. You drip it back over the sandwich or potatoes and meat or what have you. It is much better than gravy in my opinion.

Scotch drinkers say it takes an acquired taste...I always wondered why anyone would want to acquire a taste for something that smells like a cross between horse manure and toe jam sneakers...?

FWIW au jus is a broth that comes with what is known as a "French Dip"...just a roast beef sandwich on french bread...the sandwich is generally dipped into the broth before taking a bite...

IMO the best way to enjoy the actual taste of coffee (like the smell) is in something like a milk shake (coffee and vanilla ice cream)...
