73 and light rain going to 83, and hopefully a rainstorm. Only got .06 overnight. Randy, don't hog it all!

Thanks for sharing the gly articles. I plan to read them both. Like so much "research", I have found articles on both sides of the issue in the past. Just like research on coffee...latest "tests" claim it has so many antioxidants it is a health tonic. In any case, it tastes and smells great! I'm drinking a Uganda coffee today. I seem to remember hearing research reported last week that says drinking alcohol fights diabetes. Maybe I'll start drinking.

Got the rest of our place mowed...finished just as my wife drove up from NC. Started drizzling about 5 minutes later.

Planning on attending the annual Outdoor Show at the Richmond Raceway Complex...34th year. It's mostly a pre-hunting-season vendor show, with some calling contests and lectures. I've been to most of them, but haven't been the last couple of years...was given free tickets this year.

Don, We always looked at how dark the yellow spot on the bottom was. Darker yellow means ripe.

Interesting, I'll have to check out the yellow on the two other watermelons that are due to be picked this month.

I think these huge loppers are Gardena, they'd better not rust after one rain, but we'll see.
Just not itching, pun intended, to get near that area until this swelling goes down.
If I get stung again it might not be a linear reaction.

I was stung good once by just one bee, had to to emergency room i swelled so bad. Course by the time i got looked at, swelling was going down. Never had that same reaction since, but i try to avoid bees. My wife has epi pins.

Temperature here only got down to 77 last night and the NWS forecast is 50% chance or rain today, 70% tonight, and 50% tomorrow. I'm sure hoping some of it comes our way.

66°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 81° today. Same for tomorrow. Looks like we're in for a beautiful weekend here.

Too bad you can't store some of that up for the dry times, eh Randy?
