Since I have the SSQA that Kubota came out with this year, the 48 inch wicked grapple is off the table. So that leaves me the wicked 55 inch 208lb clamshell type root rake grapple, and the 50 inch root grapple that has one cylinder that weighs 274 lbs. The latter root grapple looks just like my construction attachments extreme duty grapple I had on my skid steer. I believe Ted's brother makes them. I like the full bottom on the grapple, but then again it weighs more.

Lastly the is there land pride clamshell style grapple that is 54 inches and weighs 190lbs.

In real world applications am I going to be able to tell a difference in lift capacity by adding 100 to 150 lbs of weight to the front end loader of my BX23s?

Sorry guys, I know there are millions of posts about grapples on here. And I have actually had the biggest and baddest on my Bobcat T190, but that is sold now and with Little Orange I have to pay attention to the details.

Thank you. I have read a lot of them. The new SSQA kind throws a small curve at me. Had it not been for that I would probably have just gone with the 150 lb 48 inch wicked orange one.....

Easiest decision EVER! There's nothing like this lightweight, 200 pound chunk of 55" Wicked beauty for the new BX with universal quick attach, John Deere 1023R/1025R, Mahindra Max, or any other subcompact tractor for that matter!

Except for the shape of it!

It depends what your main use will be. My first grapple was that clamshell style. It is better than no grapple and good for some things. But now I have two "full bottom" grapples, a 44" and a 72" dual lid. No more clamshell for me. :D

My first grapple on the Tracked Skid Steer was full bottom. I seriously contemplated that 50 inch wicked. But just wasn't sure with the small BX loader....I figured I needed to go light on the grapple. Ended up ordering the Landpride 54 inch clamshell grapple. Supposed to get it August 10th alongside my third function remote. I ended up with this one over the others because of several factors. 1 was getting it from my local dealer, 2 was quicker turnaround time, 3 light on the bx. Had the wicked been avaialable sooner I probably would have bought it, but those guys are super busy, something like 6 weeks out. I think with either one you can't go wrong really. You are just splitting hairs I think....

I do believe however I will be one of the first people with the Landpride 54 inch SSQA clamshell grapple.

I hope they can produce one for you.
We tried to get our hands on one many months ago, but every dealer around had never laid eyes on one and, to my knowledge, there's no known actual photo of one.

Kinda funny, considering the SGC0554 has been listed in their price sheet since October 1, 2016.
We were told that LP was waiting on their grapple "shipment".

I wonder if it'll be Orange.....:scratchchin:

Haha, stuck on a boat somewhere between here and China. LOL I hope not! I did not check to see where their stuff is made....One good thing about it is I didn't have to tie my money up somewhere for six weeks or even until August 10. I can walk up to it, kick the tires and walk away if I wish.......

First 55" Wicked Grapple spotted on a Kubota BX23S with universal quick attach!!

The customer is amazed by the incredibly strong clamping force and the full 36" opening will grab a pile of brush!
Runners are bolted in between the tines to serve as a depth gauge. Remove them to shave off an additional 30 pounds.

He promises more pics in the near future!
