I've got 2000 hrs on my L4330,been changing oil and filters as recommended. Still can't find a non messy way to change filters and not oil. Talking about Trans/Hyd. Any ideas, thanks
I'm not sure what you guys are trying to achieve here.
Of the two - (Filter, Oil) the most important to change is the... Oil.
The filter can wait and will handle two, or even three, changes of oil.
It's the oil that wears out. The filter just catches the debris as the worn-out oil causes wear in the hydraulics and transmission.
Change your oil when you need to - and your filter when you can.
Think of your engine - and play this game - You are only allowed to change one thing (Oil or Filter) Would you leave the oil in the sump and just change the filter?
I'd change the oil every time. The filter can wait (But just not forever).
:wrench:
An inexpensive engine oil filter is well worth changing right along with the 100 hr oil.
I've done it, works great. A helper orWell, I have read that putting a vacuum hose from your shop vac in the fill opening keeps the oil from running out when changing the filter. I have not tried it when changing filters but not the oil. Wont hurt to try it.
