Let's see your bench in various states of chaos or calm. Here is my little 2ft by 4ft 1/2in steel top portable tool chest/bench. Some days it is clean with a vise on a corner... other days...

What is the shiny thing with the red cap to the left of the vise? Why is that not in the garbage? ;-)

You didn't say "which" bench, so here's the bench I use most,

Here's the oldest (1983) bench I've built still currently in use. It's 16'x2'. Doubled up 3/4" ply for thickness wrapped with a 16 gauge formed top.

These days I tend to find myself using the freestanding benches more and more.

ha ha... yeah I unearthed it the other day. It's says made in USA on it so I'm having a hard time tossing it . It's junk now but maybe it will be a rare find in twenty years. :D

Here is one I am cleaning up, cutting down the legs, painting, and putting casters on. Picked it up at an auction with a very nice Wilton vice mounted on the corner. Will be restoring that as well.

Just built a new one last week, so it's still virgin. And will never look like this again!

It's 8' long, 30" deep. I used the leftover plywood strip (the 18" cut) to make a bottom shelf.
