69 with a sunny 90 forecast.

First sunflower of the year is opening this morning, and got our first tomato 3 days ago...a bit early since we always think of July 4th as first tomato day.

Bush hogged a couple of acres yesterday, and worked in the garden. Using landscape cloth to help fight the weeds this year. Problem was I let the weeds get a head start, so been hoeing then covering...working well so far.

About 76 out this AM. All I did yesterday was focus in on cutting grass. Today I will walk around and get an assessment on what else needs to be done. Well, after I cut more grass with the mower deck in the unlocked position. LOL. My excuse is since it has not been done for a while, the grass was too high for the mowers anyway. LOL.

I heard and the family claims, we have pigeons in the barn. Squab makes a fine meal.

Have a great day all, hope Cindy is easy on all. Be safe.

Good morning! 75˚, North wind at 7 mph from TS Cindy. No rain, we are on the dry side. All we will get is about a 10 degree cooler day than normal, a high of 90˚. The TS did send some clouds to block the sun during the weekly water volleyball game yesterday.

68 high of 86 rain moves in tomorrow from TS Cindy

I'm not looking forward to driving to Princeton NJ tomorrow in that rain but no choice.
At least it looks like a fairly nice day today to get caught up on things.

so what kills the babies? Well bad milk of course, but if you buy Nestles powdered milk
your baby has no worries....

I made new labels for my nut trees using my Ptouch labeler. The name tags are copper; previous permanent black ink marker faded out, ink won't hold up to sun.
Will see how long these labels last. I use them on all my small engines: 10/30 Syn Filt Plug June 2017
But for today it will be Cape Fear Pecan

I did one more scan and found a little nugget...if believable, we now know where the term get the hook comes from

72F and mostly cloudy @ 09:00 ... high today of 85F, 70% chance of rain/thunderstorms after midnight.

Plan for today is to get the blades changed out on the MMM and then maybe mow ... before the grass gets too tall (again) to just leave it lay.

Appointment with chiropractor later today.

71°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 81° with a slight chance of rain after noon, better chance after midnight. We could use some rain here.

Eric, my friend mentioned that there were really no air conditioned homes around London. I'm sure he'll survive just fine. Temperatures in the low-to-mid-90s is pretty typical of summers around here. We hit 97° yesterday, and there are always periods in July and August where we'll get stretches of several days over 100°F. Not as hot as the Southwestern US is experiencing right now, but very humid here along with it. Summers are always a roller coaster in the Midwestern US. After the recent hot days, highs forecast over the next week will vary from 79° to 82°. Looking forward to that mild weather.

The good news for your friend visiting London PJ is that it is cooling down today. When they get back they will be able to tell you how they survived the hottest day there since 1976, it peaked at 94F.

Our LOW today so far is 88F, Eric, with a high predicted to be 108F. I look forward to next week when the lows will be dropping back into the 60s, with highs "only" in the mid 90s.:confused2: This week's weather is about 20F above normal for this time of year!:fiery::fiery::fiery::fiery::fiery:

Good Morning!!!! 90F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. Record high temperatures expected. High 108F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph.

To heck with the babies and the hook, Drew, is that bank still offering 4% on deposits?

Up before dawn to unload the truck and get the new-to-me Honda 90 on the bumper hitch, fuel the Kubota side-by-side, and unpack the camping gear from this past weekend, the idea being to finish before the temps got too high. It was better than waiting 'till noon, but I still soaked through a shirt. Tomorrow there's an early morning appointment at the DMV to title and register the Honda, and I'd just as soon not show up there all sweaty from wrestling that little devil up onto the carrier.

This'll probably jinx it, but so far the BBQ order is going better than expected. Returned a call asking me to confirm the order, and they'd caught my error of ordering a natural gas BBQ instead of propane. Same cost, and now I see that the card has been charged, and last night I got a FedEx delivery notice for today that just may be it. Gate is standing open and fingers are crossed.

Not much progress on the van as it's just too hot to work in the garage, even first thing in the morning. Hoping for a reaction from the mechanic on the demand letter, but not really expecting one.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
