Good Morning!!!! 83F @ 7:45AM. Sunny. Near record high temperatures. High near 105F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.
TV weather said we'd be under a red flag fire warning until Friday because of high temps and winds and low humidity. Glad I got the grass cut when I did, as they're strongly discouraging the use of all power yard tools.
Yes, Eric, an in line fuse at the battery is part of the plan. I think I can get away with 5 amps, but will dig into the manuals to make sure. But until this heat wave passes, no more trips to the attic for me!
Managed to suss out the connection for the new thermostat and get it working yesterday, and am happy to report that Honeywell tech support answers promptly and are native English speakers. They give out good advice as well, at least in my case. I was able to disable the geofencing and scheduling functions using the Lyric iPhone app, and turn the fan and A/C on/off from within the Home app, all that I'd hoped. Both apps also report inside temps, and high/low temp notifications can be set up as well, but again aren't really necessary here. I'm satisfied with how it works, and just hope it keeps working that way.
Today I'll get the drip system turned back on, and maybe do a little work out in the garage before it gets too hot. Then inside for more desk jockeying.
Happy Hump Day gang!
