Hello all, I have an MTD model # 13AM762F052 lawn tractor. Last week I was mowing & forgot to disengage the mowing deck while I went over my driveway culvert & the mower hung up for a minute before I cut it off. I pushed it off the pipe but then it wouldn't start. No clicking, no nothing. I've charged the battery. No go.

Read in a few places that a safety switch might be the problem but since I turned the mower off instead of it quitting by itself, I don't know.

I've made sure the PTO was disengaged & pushed the clutch all the way in, checked to be sure it's in neutral. Even crawled down & checked to make sure both the blades turned & they did. Just don't know what might be wrong. I have no way of taking it to a repair shop so I'd have to pay someone to pick it up & anyhow this is a holiday weekend. Any advice gratefully accepted.

How many safety switches does it have?

One of them is not working. The actuator linkage may have gotten bent.

Hi & thanks for your reply. According to what I Googled, this model has 4 safety switches. So far, I've been unable to locate any of them. Not sure what the actuator linkage is but will Google that too.

I am not familiar with your MTD , but some machines have a rod from the PTO lever to actuate the safety switch. Or something to actuate the switch when it is in Park or Neutral, etc.
