LS G3038
Thinking about straight piping the 3038. Pros / cons? I like the sound but have never heard a modern LS compact with a straight pipe. I also would like to minimize the factory restrictive exhaust. Mine is a 2014 so it looks like I can just remove the muffler all together. I was thinking of using the hole saw straight out of the hood and make the pipe come directly up out of the hood for less restriction. The other option is to bend up a pipe to connect with the factory side exit exhaust.

Engine is likely tuned to the factory exhaust restriction, so that will need to be adjusted. Does it have any of the DPF junk? If so, is it legal to remove that stuff?

I can't imagine intentionally making a tractor louder. But, to each their own.

I think you may create more issues than you think. First thing comes to mind is if you run the exhaust through the hood how will you raise the hood? You can do what you want but also consider warranty issues when you start modifying things.

Okay thanks. As far as the hood, thats a great point, I would most likely have to do the bends to mimic the factory position to utilize the already present exit pipe. As far as back pressure, can anyone verify it its needed or will less restriction be beneficial?

The sound difference is not much louder. I like the old diesel tractors sound and dont mind the slightly elevated decibels. Mine is DPF free.
