There are not steel toe and they are #14.99 at my TSC. I tickled with them because my last pair was made in China and my daughter gave me a hard time about that fact.

Hate to say it but the facts didnt change because the date did. GM (and the other supposed US auto makers) are a much better place to work and retire from. Big difference between a 401k and a real pension.

That was before the UAW and the manufacturers negotiated a Tier 2 pay scale. They are now floating a Tier 3 payscale.

The article posted is recent and compares the value of wages and benefits. The obvious discrepancy is that the cost of living in the southern states is far lower than Detroit. Even the cost of Living in Ohio where Honda is is 12% lower than Detroit area.
