Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Anyone have any experience with H-F's pneumatic tire casters??? My wife wants me to make an "all terrain" grocery cart that she can use in the garden.

I would be cautious about any small tire from HF that used a tube. My experience is that they won't hold air for very long.

I've tried several and none last long but on my wife's garden wagon I replaced them with the solid tires and she is very happy with them. The down side is that they are about $15 each but if she's happy it's well worth it.

That's why they put the Slime on the adjacent shelf.

Small tires from HF are a waste since the air leaks out so fast. On the other hand, their hard rubber tires are excellent if not left out in the rain and snow.

Does that really work? I assumed their tubes leaked through all surfaces, not just the outer perimeter where the Slime will settle.

I assume Slime settles when the vehicle isn't moving. If there is enough to fill the diameter of the tube in the bottom at rest then eventually all the micro holes would clog and stop leaking. I have no evidence, just speculation.

Just used my HF step drill for the first time on some 1/8" thick angle iron. Worked great once I penetrated all the way through. But wondering if I need to use a different pilot bit to start? I have no doubt I could easily drill much larger holes once the tip is through even in thicker material. I liked how I could easily clean up/deburr the backside too.

I've never used it either. I thought it was intended for small thorn punctures so it didn't occur to me it might be a general remedy for HF's porous synthetic rubber.

I have a general drilling question: I have plenty of plumber's pipe thread cutting oil. Is this the same thing, or suitable, as oil for a drill press?
