The ones I use don't have replaceable cartridges, but cost about the same as the cartridges themselves and getting the mask renewed as well gets me new elastic and a clean place to put my nose. They come in small, medium, or large, and I guess I have a medium face, not being very meaty up there. Probably best to go to a shop and try one on, but Amazon has a very good return policy if you guess wrong.

I like your thinking over the disposable masks, although here they seem to be priced almost as high as those that take replacement cartridges.

We have a cold northerly wind to remind us that spring has a long way to go yet. Sheltered locations fair little better, with concrete and metal objects coated in a hard layer of ice after last night's sleet froze.

Lenny and Eric. I know 2 successful cowboys, not farmers. They are relatives who started out with very little. They are real cowboys - cows, horses, trailers, trucks.

Don, I guess living in Texas they can be proud to be called a cowboy. In England the most common use of the word "cowboy" is for tradesmen with little skill who do poor quality work. Not sure why that came about, maybe something to do with riding off into the sunset, never to be seen again ?

just woken up by smart phone squealing like mad that a flash flood warning is in effect. We are just getting dumped on now, I bet this is five to six inches of rain before it's done. Going to be a big cleanup out by the end of the lane later today. Next couple of hours should get interesting. Still dark, can't see if the road ditches are overflowing but rain just beating down on roof, almost a constant roar. Thankfully not much wind. Rain is overflowing from my gutters, can't get away fast enough....

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 54° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 67° (Home) with party cloudy skies. Made it to MI yesterday. Another 120 miles to home. Been having trans shifting problems since we left TX. But should make it home without having to get a tow.
