Good morning a lovely 50 deg and heading into the 60's today. Lots of changes over the last 6 months, wife and I purchased a water front home on lake Pocotopaug that looks like it will become our full time home some time in the future (sooner rather than later wife said) after 33 years in law enforcement I retired so far board out of my mind, now that warmer weather is here I can get out and do something have 2 yards to care for. Lost an uncle who was like a second father after the loss of my dad 30 years ago and 6 weeks later mom lost her fight to cancer. Helping my cousin who wants to sell he dads tractors 22 of then and 2 small JD dozers. My son and wife added a cute little baby boy last weekend and getting ready for my oldest daughters wedding in June.

Sorry for your losses. Congrats on your grandson. Retirement means your supposed to stay tired all the time. :)

Your back view looks really nice in the springtime. I can see why she wants to move there.

Did I read correctly, 22 tractors?

Finally got a chance to get down on the field....pretty soggy and I wasn't sure I was going to get the Gator back up from the field.

I took the Henry Survival rifle with me. Didn't take the Kahr CW9 since I need to field strip it and lubricate it first.

Anyway, put three mags (8 rounds each) though it, just plinking at empty beer cans. At 15 yards (approximately since I paced off 15 steps), it did pretty good. No FTF's or other problems. The rifle will be a nice plinker, but I doubt I shoot it much. The 10/22's are better for plinking...the Henry is a great "keep it under the seat for emergencies" rifle. It would also be a great camp gun, along with a Ruger .22 pistol (one of the Mark target guns or an SR-22). I have an SR-22. I like those Ruger Mark pistols (except for the field strip hassles with the older versions). One of these days, I'll pick up a Mark IV (the latest version with simplified take down)

I'll keep the magazines loaded...two in the butt stock, one in the receiver (24 rounds, all told) during storage. I will NOT keep a round in the chamber though

65°F and no rain.

Good time at puppy classes. In typical boxer fashion, Kekoa did excellent - right up until when the instructor was there to evaluate, then it was anything but response properly.
So here he is on ride to school:

And in class:

Having a hiccup in new internet, actual performance not matching speeds indicated by Ookla Speedtest. If not some modem/router setting then I will try to get a Verizon sim to try.

Be safe
Have a great day

Got the three year old off and made it back home. Picked up three more trees to plant and some hydrangeas. The people come in the morning to install the southern lake side windows and French doors. Wife has made me promise to stay away while they are working. So I've been elected to be planting dude.
Got plenty of chores stacked up to do this week. Then off to TX to teach a one week class then up to Albany NY to teach some classes there. As that's so close to wife's kids and family, she's all over going with me on that trip!

Beautiful yard Buckeyefarmer looks like something that would be at the golf tournament now on at Augusta Ga. Great lesson on how to replace ceiling exhaust fan

I baked a dewberry pie for Mom. She liked it a lot and she could have a lot because it had no fat and only 2 tbs sugar in the whole pie instead of a cup of sugar the recipe called for.IMG_0413.JPG
The crust was made of bananas, dates, and whole wheat flour. It was cooked in a pie pan lined in parchment paper so no sticking.

Good evening all. 66F this morning, cloudy, and very windy. Wind gust were topping 30 mph, temp rose to 82 and sky cleared for a while, started to cloud back up this afternoon. After chapel, plan A was to play in a couples golf tourney, but wife's shoulder was bothering her after Friday round, so we canceled that. Plan B turned out to help stepdaughter who was trying to help someone she met the New Year's Eve party. Mower had a deflated and unbeaded tire, ( rope trick worked great) then some mowing, first time to use string based rotary mower. Worked well when the strings were new, but the 1/4 in string didn't like rocks any better than the hand held trimmers :(
