good morning all. Cooler morning, a/c turned off, heat back on. Clear and fairly dry for next ten days.

David, for that much per gallon, can't you get your gens to run on cheap vodka?....:D

I had to chuckle, and also welcome..., our new member who is stalling his tractor, and doesn't even remember the name of his tractor. Maybe....not sure we aren't being played with here. Time will tell.

Going to plant about 15 knockout roses today in the holes I drilled yesterday, while sticking around waiting for the diesel truck to come. I have to lead the truck back in my golf cart to keep him off the soft parts of the lawn. Once he crosses over to the far side of the orchard fence, I'm not concerned with dents in the field, but I still have ruts in the lawn from before. Though frankly the worst of those was made by the concrete truck. This company's delivery fuel oil truck is a Kenworth with all chrome wheels and a beautiful paint job. They take very good care of their expensive truck, good advertising for their company. And I'm sure I'm paying a few pennies for that truck...

pollen is still bad, wake up with itchy eyes despite showering.

45 out this AM. Today is probably dedicated to storm cleanup. Those storms kicked up some nasty winds from multiple directions. We lost power for a couple of hours during the day, quite uncommon, and the area in general lost a good many trees.

Be safe all, have a great w/e.

eastern half of US once again gripped in influenza "epidemic". At doc's office yesterday they said they
had many patients sick with the flu. I sure washed my hands when I got home, but I do that anyway, and very
rarely get sick.
If you have kids in school, almost impossible to avoid it.

I bet if they required everyone in school to wash their hands three times a day, and someone went around wiping door knobs
several times a day (just like they do on cruise ships) the flu intensity would be greatly reduced.
And really teach kids how to be careful with sneezing. Who wants to be sick? The kids sure don't want to...
I just wonder if we couldn't do a better job here in both prevention and mitigation.
Though I bet if you required someone to wash their hands
someone would scream lawyer.

growing up it was always "wash your hands before dinner" pretty strictly enforced.
Working outside in the dirt usually without gloves, I wash my hands a lot.
Gojo is my friend.

Good morning! 51˚ heading to 78˚ sunny day light winds from the South and a warming trend starts. Still no frost since the middle of February. Frost got close yesterday as the temperature in the valley dropped to 42˚. Potatoes are blooming. I'm still waiting for my 3" trenching shovel to finish the cattle guard projects. The 4" worked good, but on two cattle guards the space of the pipe is 3 3/4". Lots of trimming to do around here and mowing at my parents.

Mom is hanging in there with surgery finally scheduled for mid May for her broken prosthesis hip. The wheel chair came just in time for her Dr. visits this week. She has one more test next week before the long month wait. They finally got her pain med right so hopefully no more painful trips to the ER. Just too many people needing joints replaced. People are living longer but not healthy. Since we are doing the cooking my parents are now no/oil, plant based. They have no complaints and enjoy the food.

I ordered two more cooking aids since the HealthFest in Marshall TX. The new ScanPans work great for nonstick oil free pancake making and the air fryer should come in a few days.

I haven't been on the tractor for two weeks and missing it.

Buppies, I need you to come up for a pave job...

I don't know what it was this morning, but I had a lot of people cut me off. Leave a car length at 80 mph, and someone will wedge their way in.
41° wiindy, high only mid 40s.
Welcome Carol to "good morning"

Here is a "branch" that came down yesterday.

Silver Maples are not the type of tree to have around your house, especially when they get old. We have been "maintaining" them for over ten years, but when they do drop they cause a lot of work.

When I was out with the chainsaw, my wife noted the birds on the barn. I don't like to work with chainsaws, the one I got has turned out to be finicky these last few months. And usually when the work is required, it is in areas like the picture that are just difficult to work in.

Anyway, the birds did not get a free meal, yesterday. LOL.

Looks like a pretty day today. Last day of three years old visiting so it'll be a whirlwind of activities I bet. She's coloring a masterpiece as I write this.
Think we are doing a fire with hotdogs and marshmallows tonight.
Rest of the day is a take it as it comes kinda day. I have next week at home so I can catch up on my projects then.
