Good morning!!!!

37°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 63° today. Chance for some storms overnight tonight.

Had a productive weekend. Spent most of the day Saturday running errands with The Wife. Picked up and moved a washer/dryer set for a friend of hers. Had a nice lunch at St. Louis Bread Co. (known as Panera to the rest of the world). Made a trip to Lowe's for some random stuff. Dropped into a couple of other stores while we were in the area (found some Brussels sprouts about 1/2 the size of my palm). Just kind of spent the day together. Sunday was getting stuff done around the house day. Cleaned up the garage and organized the lumber left by the carpenter. Moved everything out of the sunroom, laundry room, and upstairs bathroom in preparation for the vinyl flooring being laid today. Got to play a bit with the new Harbor Freight DC Inverter stick welder on some flat scrap. And helped the boy remove the old satellite pole from the side yard and chuck it in the dumpster (HughesNet relocated the dish to the roof on Friday). On a lighter note, when I bent over to lift the heavy concrete end of the pole, my 501s split from the hole that had started some time ago near the right back pocket all the way down to the leg. Wifey was looking out the sunroom window when it happened, and got a much bigger kick out of that than one would think reasonable. :muttering:

She sent me a text that the electrician is there today. Hopefully, he can get everything finished. Vinyl flooring is going down today, too. New gutters are going up tomorrow, and kitchen cabinets and shower should be arriving later this week. Installation of the hardwood floors and the new kitchen and bath are scheduled to begin next Monday. Should be all wrapped up in the next couple of weeks.

Good morning, did some welding on a trailer frame addition. I've got remove the galvanic material before welding them into place. Don't need to inhale that!
Feeling some better each day. Weather is back to around 60 today and warmer tomorrow.
Going to look a fairly rare 1993 454 SS, and even more rare, red with gray interior. He's asking good money, gotta see if the truck matches up.

64°F and 3.48 inches rain last 24 hours. Thankfully did start until after my last PV were in place. Still need some final work and reroute my combiner boxes but the grunt installation is in place and producing. My body needs a break.

Be safe
Have a great day.

Eric, project looks great. Just hope the antique timbers were harvested in the correct month....After hearing about hedge trimming, I'm still aghast.

Don, how much are organic mudpies?

Catfever, I watched a show about high power sleds and it was exciting. They have one that is like a dirt bike. Are those any good? Probably not for submarining.

Had a great day, I finished cleaned up a tree that fell on a fence last fall. I hauled most of the branches over to my neighbors burn pit, and we spent a couple of hours talking and feeding branches in. Good way to spend the afternoon, then turkey for dinner. Now having a 2 hearted ale. Life is good

I use to have 4 jet skis, 2 were supercharged and would run around 78-82, depending on conditions, but only got to ride a couple of snowmobiles that were pretty mundane. I always liked warm water better than cold snow, but they're fun.

Good evening all. Yesterday started with 36F, clear skies and breezy conditions. Skies got cloudy, winds picked up, and temp rose to 62F. Slow day after church. Today started calm, foggy, visibility was about 2-3 miles, and temp was 54F. Last night's forecast rain did not fall, got some water from the fog, and very brief shower, about a trace total precip. This morning Dentist visit went as well as it could be expected, ie no root canal and mouth is ok with twp temp crowns. Drop the truck off tomorrow morning to have a computer problem looked at. I just don't have the diagnostic equipment to see what is going on.

Oncce upon a time when I was a lot younger I had a Yamaha 433GP that was pretty fast. The Artic Cat El Tigre was quick, too.

Good morning, temperature just on freezing this morning, so not sure what will happen with the forecasts of snow showers. Lambs had their first experience of hailstones yesterday. Sent them running at full speed back to their mothers.

Drew, I know you are a little busy experimenting with your new wood chipper at the moment, however as our resident fruit tree expert, I could do with a little advice if you can spare a few minutes. My wife's little orchard has been getting mulched with the wood ash from our fires. Is it possible to hurt them by giving them too much potash, or do they self regulate in what they take up ?

Hmm, I wonder if there is a market for organic cow pies?
If so, please ask if they would like to try a few juicy sheep currants too.

44 outside this AM. Need to do some chainsaw work today. That windstorm that caused roof issues took some tree limbs down in the front. Yeah I just got down there yesterday to check it out. Lol. Have a great day all. Be safe.

45 going to 73, and half a chance of rain.

Did a Don yesterday...cleaned up along my fence line along the road. Walked up there with the chainsaw to cut one volunteer pine tree that was encroaching on one of the dogwoods, and 3 hours later still cutting aggravating vines, cedars, sumac and what I think was a thicket of volunteer thorny Bradford pears. Still need to pull all of the 20 or 30 piles over to the woods and build a rabbit brushpile. This is when a grapple would come in handy.

Not finished by a long shot. Also picked up litter, and there was a Two hearted ale bottle in the ditch...I guess no one here drove by and tossed it right?

Now having a 2 hearted ale. Life is good

Enjoy the day all.

wow what a lot of posts to catch up on. Ok, in response to more than a few well deserved "no pics it didn't happen"
comments, pics will be coming today.
Success! after much aggravation...my hydraulic top link did not work. My manual top link did not work. My new long enough Class II top link was beefy and nice and of course the ends were too fat and it wouldn't even begin to fit. Sigh... Strike 3. Covered in grease, seriously irritated, my thoughts were in for a penny, in for a pound (right Eric?) so I took the chipper off the Kubota and installed it on the Massey.
It fit....ever so barely, with just enough overlap on the pto shaft. Massey's oem top link was obviously longer, bent (not me....) but worked.

I'm going to be taking this into my rear woods so in hindsight better to put it on this open tractor anyway.
Variable speed input, I set it on pretty slow and experimented feeding material in. Worked great, loud (need ear protection for sure) but
even a four inch trunk did not slow the unit down at all. Rated for 8 inches but that's just the size of the opening. Got one improperly cut stick jammed in the entrance, pulled the master overhead bar back and the whole thing reversed nicely and pushed the stick back out.

Spare titanium ! I would end up hoarding that for a lifetime, always hesitating to use it in case a more worthy project came along in the future I'm sorry I can't lend you any of mine. 4 inches of titanium rod in my neck. Removal and loan would be
difficult. Perhaps I could will it to you...;)

much warmer day today, 54 going to 77, I have such an itch to plant. Maybe some potatoes and beans in the raised garden...
but more important things to do today, my neighbor down the road is coming over late morning, and finally, finally...., I'm plugging in my four year old never been turned on welder I bought from the folks on this site, and I'm going to be taught how to weld. Well, he's going to weld with my equipment, on a seriously damaged mower deck, a Gravely wing mower, one of my restoration projects, and I'm going to watch, and hopefully do a little. I even rewired the entire barn to make sure I had a dedicated welder line.
Today is the day for sparks. Am loaded with HF welding tools and will be fun to see how they are used. Strange clamps for sure.

At issue is whether my three year old rods are any good to use, they have issues with humidity apparently, folks put them in their ovens to warm up it seems...I have three or four types of rods, including lots for practice. and yes, two big ABC and one pressurized water fire extinguisher nearby. No sparks landing in the gas can storage...no no no.

Larro, wonderful picture of you. You should be on the cover of Trekking Magazine
Have fun and be safe. Do you have a can of pepper spray?

Good morning! 70˚ inside and out. Cloudy day reaching 85˚.

Houston we have a problem.

The Alkalinity level in the pool is very high and the PH is ok. If acid is added to decrease the alkalinity the PH will also go down. To adjust the alkalinity level without decreasing the PH, AIR must be added so the PH will rise and then acid added so the PH and alkalinity will be lowered in sync. So today I look for air pumps.

Drew, Glad you got the muncher working.

26 this fine nippy morning and going to a high of 41. I gotta go to the city and get my monthly shopping done. Only 8 stops this time. 9 if you include gas. I have enough to make the ringer but I will check online and see what gas is worth here and then up there and make a decision.
Stay safe all.

Poured second cup of coffee. 55° with rain this morning. Heading to 62° with rain most of the day. The weather is keeping me mostly inside. Helping wife clean inside of MH.
Drew, its best if welding rod is dry. I have welding rod that is over 20 years old. Still welds good if I make sure it is dry when used.
Don why not hook a hose to your pump and put a spray nozzle on it. Allowing it to spray into pool.
Good Morning All.
