If you are concerned turn on your cab work lights(if you don't have the rears install them),they are about as high as you can go.I run in day with my caution lights,at night with all my lights on.

If one does that, they're subject to a traffic violation! It's illegal to run rear work lights on any vehicle when traveling a public road!

The Mahindra eMax has brake lights and turn signals. I laughed at the horn but I'm finding it useful to get someone's attention.

I had the exact same reaction to the horn, but it has come in handy a couple of times to get the wife's attention to come out and help with something when on the tractor. You can send morse code with it!

Oh balderdash. If you really think you need brake lights on a farm tractor you probably have no business with a tractor. In my view (I don't post any views but my own...) it can't be justified. Kioti has produced an industry joke if they install them ! And your sources on illegal lighting on the highway are A) Faulty and B) full of it. Every state has different laws and you have researched none of the 50 sets of them, right ?

I DO favor horns and have had many cases where I would have used one.

I feel the same way about seat switches.

I have always been happy my Kioti does not have a seat switch. Especially when standing up to see the tips of my forks going into a pallet! That used to but the heck out of me with my Kubota.

My Bobcat has all the lights on the rear of it that a car or truck does except back up lights. I don't worry about going down the highway to use the brake lights. I just look for them on when the parking brake is on. I just use flashers on the highway.

My 2005 Kioti DK45S turns on the rear work light when you put the shuttle in reverse.

If I did that to my wife she would use the tractor to burry me, alive!

I think this is close. A manufacturer will typically build what's the most common. Lights are cheap to install on all tractors then keeping separate documentation for each state option. That's why manuals are printer with multiple languages.

Now CA emissions are more expensive which is why manufacturers have CARB compliant models.

Horn or lights, the same thing. Use them or not.

JWR,

Apparently you don't know the difference between BRAKE lights and WORK lights!

Wrong about many things I suppose. You got my points.

Brake lights would be redundant on a vehicle that is already stopped for all practical purposes.

The closest you will get to brakes is that the turn signal comes on solid for the side opposite of the side you are turning (IE: turning left, the right light comes on solid and the left side flashes).

I added a pressure switch to the brake cylinder on my tractor . Now the 4 way flashers illuminate solid without flashing when ever the brakes are operated.

Mine M9000 is not equipped with a brake light too. Checked the wiring diagram of this tractor version, it shouldn't be equipped with the one (brake switch isn't installed).
