32°F and cloudy this morning with some rain/snow mix falling on the Missouri side of the river, going up to 39° today. Some snow possible later today, too. Near 70° by the weekend, so it won't stay long.

Roof is covered on the sunroom now. They're taking the day off today because of expected snow. He called the Wife last night to let her know that the electrician and plumber will be there Friday.

43 this morning and headed to 53 today.

Half of birds are gone. Rest leave tonight. Have some equipment to move and then start cleaning up and getting ready for the next flock.

Wife and kids are home rest of the week. Schools are closed because of the flu. District wide attendance was at 71% yesterday when they called the rest of the week. We aren't the only county. Have had neighboring counties close over the last couple of weeks.

Toppop hope your grandson recovers quickly.

RLG I will check them out. Thanks.

Kyle. Some drivers just don't understand the challenges of hauling livestock. Until they loose the load. Takes a lot of manpower and time to clean up one of those wrecks. Usually loose most of the birds. It's been a couple of years since one was rolled around here. Landed on drivers side on top of guard rail. About cut his arm off. Just lucky he didn't land in front of guard rail as it looked like it went through windshield but was actually under truck. Companies don't tolerate turning over trucks here. Automatic job loss.

Grandson seems to be improving on the new antibiotic, fever is gone, wife says that's what he should have had last week. Mom is doing well for almost 94, nobody believes she's that old, she worked every day in our upholstery shop until she was 90, carried one end of a sofa until she was 83 and had her first stroke. Hope I got some of those genes!

We get chicken truck wrecks here 3-4 times a year, but the Delmarva Peninsula is ground zero for chickens, Perdue, Tyson, and half a dozen others are either headquartered here or have major operations within 30 miles of Salisbury. My wife was the medical supervisor for Tyson Foods Mid Atlantic operations for a number of years, use to get all expenses paid trips to beautiful Northeast Arkansas once or twice a year. :D

Got to 66 yesterday, 60 now, 68 later, then cold for 2 days, then warming up.

RedNeckGeek;4681066 water was shooting up into the air half way down the spillway. When they cut the flow they found this: [ATTACH=CONFIG said:

that dam picture is scary. Something either wasn't built right or maintained properly. Whoever signed off on the last visual inspection is going to be on the carpet for sure. They ought to reseal the whole thing.
Warm out, time to start the water cart project, and may work on that this afternoon. 10 percent TSC storewide coupon made me have a little fun. Told the store clerk who knows me that I was armed and dangerous. She laughed and said really? And I showed her my coupon and said I was armed with a coupon and dangerous.

Fedex called and said a semi would be here tomorrow to deliver my nut trees. Luckily on a pallet, because within 24 hours it's going to be 26 degrees here and I'm going to just leave them on the pallet in the barn for a little protection. They are dormant so some cold weather should not hurt them, unless they show up with buds on them. We shall see.

Think I'll work on the water cart and leave planting for another day. Though I did pick up two pineberry plants that look like fat white raspberries and allegedly taste like pineapple. They will go in my regular garden which will be electric fence protected. It's all out war this year, I have those beds looking like they were fenced for Alcatraz... I may even hook up the water hose gizmo that senses movement and starts hosing down the area. Last year the deer ate my blackberries down to sticks. And ruined my rose garden so many times the roses died. Not again unless they are in to electricity. I know, I should have a dog, but with no dog, it's deer off spray and lots of joules of energy.

65°F and .11 inches rain last 24 hours. Storm not as bad as forecast but still a bit blustery, maybe enough to keep me off the roof.

Be safe
Have a great day

We have a high percentage of kids missing school here. My 6 year old boy missed a day, seemed to be getting better and now back down with fever. Antibiotics not working? Probably viral issue.

RNG, too bad they didn't see that issue during the years of drought. Hope they can patch that chug hole.

Today is another nice day here. Too bad I have to work.....

A coworker just walked by and asked if I'd looked outside recently. So, I walked down the hall and peeked out. Everything is now covered with a thin layer of ice and snow. That should make the drive home fun this evening. Temp has already dropped to 28°F. Going to get a tad chilly tonight.

Sure hope they check the integrity of the ground under the rest of that spillway, RNG. With that much water, there's surely been some serious washout under there. Looks like it will be fun getting in there to repair it as well.

small DC pump I got at TSC worked fine, now I need to secure everything and put the battery in a battery box, then
get an inline on/off switch. I found it very odd to find a big blob of white grease in the output side of the pump. I cleaned it out. ??
Cheesy suction hose that comes with pump kept floating on top of the water, I found a brick that made a good weight. Need to replace input side with larger ID hose.
