it is a seprate steel cage you put around the pallet, (it is adjustable to fit different pallets) then you put the bag inside the cage an fill it up. after you have filled the bag up, you open the side of the cage and drag it to the side. then you have a bag with 1500l firewood

Hi 2oRodd,

If you don't mind me asking, where did you source it/them from?

Thanks,
T

I used the BX to haul and drag some logs yesterday.

Now that is my idea of a good time! And I spent most of my weekend doing the same.

I'm not trying to be critical, but wondering why you don't use your 3ph to raise the front of logs you're dragging toward the end of the video. It keeps the logs cleaner (and thus your chainsaw sharper); there's less drag; and it's less likely the logs will get hung up on a stump or rock. Of course too much weight and you'll lose steering up front, and I see you don't have an FEL on there to help counterbalance (though the front bracket weights are good).

Anytime messing with tractors and chainsaws is a good time.

I could have lifted and pulled the logs the with 3PH but technically your not supposed to pull from the 3PH. I'm not sure how well the BX would drag the logs with them raised on the 3PH. It is pretty light on the front. I agree it best to keep the logs out of the dirt. I had need pulled any logs in the woods with the BX so I more less playing around with it seeing what it would do. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

Very impressive setup!

Thank you!

Thank you!

I didn't have access to my Farmi PTO winch a few weeks and made due with using my Quick Hitch on the 3 pt. Worked great and lifted the front of the logs off the ground (using choker chains on the large hook that the top link attaches to on the QH).

I spent the afternoon getting some more logs out, I got the dozer out to put a skid trail in were I plan on thinning out a few more hemlocks. I only got one tree out today but it had 4 good logs in it. I will have to do some calculating but I think I'm getting close to what I need for lumber. once I'm done with the hemlock I will be on to getting firewood logs that will be coming form a trail that is in serious need of some maintenance , I plan on widening it and doing some drainage work alongside it.

Ground doesn't look to frozen over there. Ours just has a slight crust but only froze a couple inches. Do you put those tracks up on blocks to keep them from freezing in? Just curious. Good idea, if so.

It was 40 and sunny today and gonna be 50 tomorrow , the frost hasn't really got into the ground at all this winter , we get a week of cold then it warms up for a few days and thaws everything.

Yeah, it was 52 and sunny here today, so you'll get it tomorrow. I used my newly re-powered log splitter for a couple hours today. No jacket for sure.
