I agree. It is relaxing. When I tell people that I enjoy cutting wood they look at me like I'm crazy.

It's a labour of love. My father worked in the woods until he was 85 years old. He said if there was to much snow to get in the woods he was not a happy camper. He claimed it was the best job in the world and it keeps you healthy and strong. After working in a high pressure job in an office for 35 years I finally believe him.

Agree totally. I love the wood heat but being in the woods on weekends in the winter is my relaxation, thinking spot, exercise, and mental challenge - all in one.

I like your tractor. I like how your splitter has the outfeed chut on it and goes right into your pallet. How do you put the netwrap on your pallets? Do you have to do it by hand or is framework around the pallet part of a "wrapper."

I'm with you...I need my woodlot to keep my sanity.
Hard physical work, it's true, but oh how rewarding.
Cutting fire wood, openning new trails, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, or just a walk llooking at different species of birds.
Looking at the global forest improving following my interventions...very gratifying !

We're back to snow and cold here so I got out this afternoon and got another good size hemlock cut down . It was 22" at the but and I got 5 13'6" logs out of it , with the piece of the top I left in the woods that was only good for pulp it had to be right around 85' tall. My hemlock pile is stacking up nicely.

After I got the hemlock out I went and pulled a big cherry tree that blew down 2 years ago and was partly hung up . I got some good size logs out of it .

it is a seprate steel cage you put around the pallet, (it is adjustable to fit different pallets) then you put the bag inside the cage an fill it up. after you have filled the bag up, you open the side of the cage and drag it to the side. then you have a bag with 1500l firewood

I used the BX to haul and drag some logs yesterday.

Then we bucked the logs up.
