Good evening all. 43F this morning, heavy overcast was back, light breeze out of the south. overcast didn't start to break up till about 3, forecast wind did not blow, and temps only made it to 50F. Slow day, went biking and tended the fireplace and napped :) New bike is a Volagi Viaje, frame is 4130 Crome-Moly tubing. Going with steel because of the ride, and cost, carbon fiber rides well, but not field repairable, and expensive. Bike will still be about 10# lighter than the Trek or the 10-speed.

What price would you put on this blade?View attachment 497439View attachment 497440View attachment 497441
It's a 7 foot blade, 6 way - with manual tilt, angle, and offset.
Stand included.

I'd pay way more than 300. Being a cat 1 or 2, its a heavy build. I had a Kewaunee transport disk, it was old, but it worked great. I sold a Woods 8 ft blade a few years ago, it was virtually new, but got zero response advertising it. There are way fewer cat 2 tractors out there. This had all the brackets for hydraulics. I could not get 500 for it, settled for 350. Of course, this was during the recession, and this area really got hit hard.

Don, what are you pouring on the Kale. Looks like salad dressing and I know that can't be :)

Cat Fever cool "sledding" pics!

Mousefield, is it normal for Vancouver Island to get that much snow?

Weather here is still nice for this time of year. 50 degrees and real cloudy, snowing in the mountains though.
For those who ask how I get air going uphill, here it is. In this picture we are jumping off the cornice going down. However, that hill would have been great for going up and jumping at the cornice. All it takes is a lot of speed. The snow was fresh and soft in this picture so I think if we would have jumped uphill we could not have gotten enough speed and might have gotten stuck on the landing. Thats why we were jumping off not up. In the prior picture (red sled) I was going about 45-50MPH when I hit the top, so lift off was easy.

That looks like a lot of fun............until one day it's not!

Mostly, I'm with you in preferring a steel frame for all those reasons and also if it should ever fail, it is likely to go slowly, unlike carbon fiber which may snap without warning. From the Volagi website I see their frames are a little different to many others, with curved stays and top tube. At first glance it looks a little like it's taken a front on impact, but about as sexy as a bike frame can get !
