How is your winter so far.?

Out here in the desert, we have had the wettest year in the last 10. In the last 30 days we had almost 7" of rain which is more than we had total for the last 2 years.

The desert is not well equipped for heavy rain and washouts and flooding are everywhere. Even the towns have minimal storm water systems.

Northern Missouri. Above normal temps. Below normal moisture. Maybe 3" total of snow in 3 small dustings.

Winter has been mild so far. I'm just ESE of Lake Ontario and really thought we would get dumped on with lake effect snow due to the warm summer but it hasn't happened. I've plowed numerous times but small amounts. 15-20 miles north of me has been getting dumped on with the lake effect. All depends on which way the wind comes off the lake.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the replies, I'm pretty sure I will be enjoying a mild winter here too. All the seasons seem to be losing their identity.. we enjoyed snow as kids here. Now we get a wet slushy inch every other year..

That wet snow is really good for snowballs and snow forts, though.

Haha, yes but we would need to rake about an acre and a half!! You should see the carnage an inch of snow causes here it's the end of the world for most motorists.

The month of January here in Niagara has been bare grass, the odd dandelion all in all not to bad..every no snow day is one less day of winter

I have a rough idea how to drive in most conditions.. makes it all the more frustrating trying to get somewhere with every other f@$/#! refusing to go over 20.. sign of a misspent youth, going paddock racing and heading up the hills each time it snowed. Kiwis can't believe you don't close the roads when it snows over there. I like the different "normal" around the globe, has always piqued my curiosity. Good to know that we will probably be getting a nice mild winter, judging by reports on here.
