Hello TBN!
I read a heap of comments that winter just hasn't got any teeth for some of you this year. Still scares the heck out of me seeing your temperatures though.. and all that snow..
How does your winter compare to average?
The reason I'm asking is, I've noticed the pattern over the years, North America gets a long cold winter, next winter in the southern hemisphere is long and cold..
You guys have a wet winter, we follow with a wet winter. Just wondering how you rate this year? We've have an "Indian summer", plenty of rain.. inch and a quarter last night after a very hot day. 3 seasons in one day is commonplace in New Zealand but the one missing is summer!
Cheers
Pete

All in all so far I'd say we had mild winter little above normal compare to some years.

In Ontario we've had what seems to be our usual stupid up and down winter. Not really cold compared to years ago, but alternating between mild and cold with snow, rain, ice all in the mix. I would love it if we went back to just plain cold and snow for a few months, followed by spring. I'd say overall it would be considered a normal modern mild winter.

Our winter has been close to normal, but we did have a wet fall and summer. I'll not tell you how much snow we've got so far. Its lots.

So far winter has been mild. Some snow, no wheres near what is expected. BUT February and March could be eye openers.

Horrible warm/wet winter. I still haven't gotten to break in my brand new 60-inch Martin snowblower. We have had a grand total of 1.4 inches - this time last year, we had just finished receiving 48-inches with drifts to 60-inches.

I lived in Pittsburgh for over 20 years,, the big snow was an every 3-5 year event.

From living in Virginia for over 40 years,,,
the snow you show in the pic is a once ever 20 year event,,,

You might want to wax that blower REAL good,,
it might be setting a while before you get to use it in a BIG snow,,,
At least THAT is what I am hoping,, since I do not have a blower,,,

Oh, yea,, we need a pic of the blower,, so us non-owners can drool!!

I have lived in Northern VA for 12 years now and I wish this was only once every 20 years. It is now an every 3-5 year event here too and I have 900 feet of gravel drive to clear.
